Only 4 bangers for me, so if I ever stumbled on to a tbx 4 that was in good enough condition for under $3k I'd try to snatch it. But seeing as its going to be over double that to get it new, if/when they even decide to make a new mold for a tbx4 neck (which is what they said they'd have to do if enough people are interested in them), used is the only conceivable way for me. And chances are, anyone with a tbx 4 banger knows what a unicorn they have so they ain't even gonna sell it, let alone at a reasonable price.

Siiiiiigghhh...... I can dream can't I?

i use a green scotchbrite pad with a little wd-40 sprayed on it. don't get too agressive with sandpaper (400 wet dry) and steel wool ends up in your pickups. don't do it so much that you change the shape , contour of the fingerboard. easy does it. I have a fretless neck that is 35 years old that is still great . (phenolis) and I use roundwounds.
So your saying you've used rounds on it for years and years and the phenolic doesn't get grooved? Cause I've been wanting to use rounds on mine (phenolic as well) but have been afraid of damage to the fingerboard, even though I know they're tough as hell. Have you needed a board leveling ever?

I am very excited about the prospect of being able to use ss rounds on my fretless! Or at least nps. What kind do you use?

Those are pretty hard to come by, but I am sure someone will turn up and find one somewhere...It's like the 3 of us are on a pretty good search pattern. You fred and I

I know one guy who has a tbx 4 that he'll probably never get rid of. He's got two tbx 5s as well. More of a collector than an actual player. He's actually the same bloak that sold me that Q4 turbo you're always lusting over.

Yea, you, me and Fred do all keep pretty close eyes on the online market, that's for sure. You guys be sure to let me know if ya ever see one of my unicorns around ;)

On another note, guys, I decided to just return the quantum 5 cause it didn't sell quick enough, even at 1,800. And now I found a different member that's on its way to the family right now:), should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to meet it....

Can you guys guess what it is? :woot:

Ding ding ding! Winner winner chicken dinner.:chicken:

Had to grab another one, especially one this pretty, I'll post pics when I get it. I want a backup for my main player. This one's for standard pickup placement. The q4 neck is just the best I've ever felt on any bass I think. This one's gonna have the relief adjustment bar so I'll see if that changes the neck feel at all.
