Also, can anyone confirm if the control plate for a VJ4 is the same size as a standard Fender control plate? From pictures they look similar...but I can't tell exactly.

You missed a VJ neck on Ebay last month or so...I got it I've bolted VJ necks onto Fender and Signature bodies w/o modification

Oh, you did say "control" didn't you? LOL No clue, sorry

I got the neck for $461, a little more than I wanted to spend but WTH. They rarely go up for auction. Good luck on the hunt. The last time I wanted "just" a neck, I had to buy a whole VJ.

Does anyone know why Modulus use Chechen for tops so much? I always find that it looks a tad dull compared to other similar woods like Walnut, Bubinga and Macassar ebony. I also have never seen another builder use it. Does anyone know any more about this?

I'm in! Just got a Modulus VJ4 last week and I'm a total convert now. This thing just sounds SO good

Pictures got washed out a bit...it's a deeper darker red than that.
