Modulus Mob

Poor mans Modulus in progress!

What do you guys think about the sweet spot modulus vs the standard 2 pickup mods? Anyone have experience with both and the sound differences you experienced?
I have owned both. If you want versatility, you want the dual pickups, not the ss. The ss gives a good tone but only one sound, really. Sometimes it gets lost in a mix. The standard quantum is as versatile as a jazz bass with active eq. But it has the dual coil sound instead of a single coil sound. Very fat.

do you have a kld neck? or utilizing a wood neck?

nice thing about builds/projects like this is you can pick and choose all options to your heart's desire.

here's my last one for the foreseeable future:

body is a mix of a modulus quantum 5 and rudy sarzo's washburn force 40 from his quiet riot days. neck is a modulus kld from a peavey b-quad.

will go with my favorite bartolini 72m45c dual coil p/u's but want to switch things up a bit in the preamp section.

usually go with an aguilar obp-3. anybody out there have an onboard bass pre that you think are the bee's knees that would sound incredible with passive p/u's like barts?

demeter? john east? mike pope? nordstrand? delano? other?

Still hunting the neck, looks like its gona be status, as modulus necks are nearly impossible to get these days. Will use obp1 with lane poor 18v. Blue spark or flat black like flea has!
i had a flea/f.u. neck a couple of years ago. it was a fiver. no buyers tho. traded it away locally.

a lane poor mm thru an aggie pre should shake mountains.

Wow.. Does Geoff come with it to play it?? I mean... Really... There are a handful of us out there buying and selling these basses.. Who in their right mind could think that would sell..
It is like the guy selling that 1980's TBX old style with the 3 pickups for the marked down price of $6,000.. Come on now.. Me and probably 2 other people would want it and I wouldn't pay more
than $1500 for it. Sheesh
