Modulus Mob

I can't seem to link it from ebay, but this one is sweet. I've never seen a Q4 with a wood FB. Beautiful!

Hey guys, any idea about how much a refinish would run me? Part of the reason I got my Moddy for so cheap last year was that it's kinda in rough shape, and I'd really love to have that crystal clear neck finish that I see so much of on here. I'd probably be able to do some touch ups on the body myself, but the neck is a different story.
In addition to Pat Wilkins, you might also check with Marty Bell. I've seen a few people here have had him do body re-painting, turned out spectacular.

Goodness, that's a beauty. Any idea what the top wood is?

Also, thanks for all the suggestions for refinishing. I filled out the request for a quote from Pat Wilkins yesterday, so I'll probably survey the different prices and see how soon I'd be able to move forward with this.

$350 for a Beater?? You can buy a brand new beater for under $100!!
whoa... where can you find a modulus 'copy' for under $100? the emg's alone are around $100...

got to thinking about the green 'beater' copy that circulated here not too long ago. google'd it and looks like there's a newer version:

the builder's are getting 'better'. still amazes me to see them use the 'modulus' name. guess as long as they don't peddle these here, they're won't be a lawsuit.

Hey, so the Modulus I have sounds pretty good, but there's a little bit of a sharp sound that is a little too extreme for my tastes. I don't know what it's strung with, as they were on it nearly new when I bought it about a month ago. They have a darker color, and are pretty stiff. If I had to guess, I'd say they're Nickle or Cobalt, but I've never played those types before, I don't believe, so I don't know. What would you reccomend for a slightly warmer sound?
