So I'm back! Long story but I played nothing but Modulus for about 10 years straight starting at 18. Even with the shoddy customer service I was all in. I ended up selling all three of them to order a customer Modulus only to have them close the company doors for a few years. I was crushed and the used market went way up in price after that. I have tried so many brands since then and although they were nice nothing has stuck with me like Modulus did.
After hearing them come back I was so stoked only to find the price had gone way up which I don't blame them for. I had kind of given up and I happened to see a used one on the classifieds for what I considered a hell of a deal - especially for a 2017.
Got it a few days ago and I haven't put I down. impeccable craftsmanship. So stoked to be back with Modulus! Can I get a number?

How does it compare to your old modulus'?
Feels extremely familiar. The finish on the back of the neck feels smoother....not sure if that my imagination though. The lane poor pickup is mint and I just noticed today it's got a little modulus logo in it
Help and Advice. My Genesis 5 is my main player and through the Mesa D 800 is awesome. My back up is a 1999 M-92 (Sweetspot 5) with one EM DC pickup which I have never loved and want to change the pickup and preamp in it. , In my part drawer I have collected two extra pickups and two extra preamps. Which do I use in which combination.

I also have a pre wired EMG P and DC prewired to a EMG 2 band that I could cut and extra pickup sport for, but leaning against that.
Grew up on Jamerson and Dunn and the like, but doing Jam band stuff now (Dead, Phish).

btw, that's a pretty giant-sized zero fret... what are the benefits/applications there? my steinberger had a zero fret and never understood it's purpose. mtd's have 'em... thoughts?
Supposedly it makes the open strings sound like the fretted ones. MTD also has that Buzz Feiten tuning as well, which I kind of understand but have never tried.
As far as that Moses, look how far up the bridge is- I wonder what the sclae length is? Is it tuned BEADGC?

Yeah, I'm trying to resist... don't need it, but a black stone Q5 would be good for rock gigs... if I ever got one...
I don't trust anyone who makes a "bass face" like that...

The hipshots are above and beyond the stock tuners, not just in the weight savings, but how smooth they are. I dig the clovers as well. Going to put on a new bridge, dome knobs and probably swap out the electronics as well.

Sorry but she has since sold (on Reverb.com). Sadly, I only have 2 Moddys currently, just wasn't playing the 4 string much at all and I have a bunch of Jazz-style basses these days. I hope I don't regret selling her...
