Modulus Mob

First of two gigs yesterday. Funky, outdoor gig in a strip mall on Cape Cod (customer appreciation type thingy), my Q5 was perfect for the job. Had a great, full sound and she stayed perfectly in tune with high humidity and temps in the upper 80's. What a bass.

How do those 2x12s handle the low B? I have the Genz Uber 2 410 and it sounds good...but it is heavvvvvvvy.

A little delayed post, but I went to Summer NAMM and stopped by the Modulus booth.

It was there that I played a brand new Modulus Q5. After many years of admiring these basses from afar my expectations were considerably high.

I can say that this bass was, without any doubt, the finest instrument I have ever played. Every single note on the fretboard would sing and project perfectly. The low B was absolutely insane. The extra weight didn't bother me at all (my bass is about 7.5lbs). It was effortless to play and sounded amazing with any of the available pickup configurations. The 17mm spacing was a dream. I've played some seriously expensive instruments going store to store over the years but this instrument just blew me away like I've never experienced before! If you saw any NAMM booth photos this was a Q5 with some kind of wood top and no paint job. Wooden knobs. Lane poor pickups.

The crew from Modulus were also very kind and encouraged me to check out as many basses as I wanted. The Epifani Piccolo 999 and 2x12 they had also made for an incredible demo rig.

I was able to talk a bit to the Modulus guys about Mike Gordon's bass and some other quick topics about the NAMM show. It was a great experience all in all.

In a weird way I was kind of hoping that I wouldn't like the bass. That was to protect me from having to immediately start saving the money it would take. I know now that saving money for this instrument is going to be a necessity now that I've played one!

The next best thing I played that day was a Skjold chambered 6 string that was almost as impressive as the Modulus.

Didn't realize but my friend was taking a quick video at the time. Here it is!

I just saw your post, but am currently getting ready for work. Let me think about international shipping. I'll get back to you later through PMs.

What happened to USA -> Europe shipping rates?!? I had a Fender Jazz shipped in '09 for sth. around $100 (can't remember exactly) and now I just checked UPS/FedEx rates and they are easily in the $5XX region? Sorry to bother you Buffalo ill I should have checked the rates first - there's no way I can afford shipping like that :(
