Modulus Mob

My tbx is a 91

That mike bass is awesome and.....ALL BLACK! Neck looks weird though....yellowed and cloudy

I can’t do it though
the 'cloudiness' is even throughout the neck and the body. i'd assume it was from sweat but maybe it's a satin finish from 2001 that's maybe 'naturally' clouding over? o_O

it mentions in the ad that the bass has spent much of its time in costa rica. pretty much a stone's throw away from the equator. that could factor in the cloudiness. then again, was the bass in storage during this time or sitting on a stand out and about?

i just totally dig it since it's a 'normal' 35" scale (i believe his later personal tbx's are 34" with 26 frets) and has an electronics makeup that resembles a peavey b-quad. tone for days if so. plus, it just looks sleek as heck in all-black.

hmm, why no truss rod tho? :eyebrow:

Assuming the only issues are the one that's mentioned, somebody got a pretty good deal on this TBX...........

Anybody here snag it?

I was watching it, and was very, very tempted.......... it's a pretty close match for my '93 fretless TBX. Mine's a cocabola top, but with a KLD center stripe on the front.

I know we have a "Show Your Modulii!!!" thread, but do we have a club, like the Fenfer, $adow$ky, Warwick, etc..??

Cause once my '94 Q5 in flame green comes in, I'll officially have a whole 2 of 'em!! :D
My beloved 04 Quantum 6 . Bubinga makes it a bit heavy but it’s striking under certain lights . My main bass is my MTD but I nearly play Q as often.

@pnutz another one in Costa Rica? Well mine is in Costa Rica, no issues on paint, did a quick polish mostly to remove scratches. Depends where in Costa Rica, we have micro-wathers, not all the country is hot, but we do areas that are really humid.

Hey guys, I sold the Q5 I posted pics of a while back and ended up with an FB4 with bartolini and 2 band eq. I love the bass - it’s a keeper. But I can’t help but wonder how different it would sound with a different PU. I’ve always liked Bart’s but read so many good things about the Lane Poor. Does anyone have a video or sound clip comparing both PU’s? Thanks!!

^ Cool. I've never bought an instrument BECAUSE my heroes play it, but my heroes are M. Gordon, Dave Schools, Phil Lesh, and Otiel Burbridge, and I play a Quantum. Coincidence?

I've always played G&L, MM or Fender. Never really branched out beyond the Leo Fender designs, the L-2000 being my favorite. My main axe for the last decade has been an L-2500. I never really had much interest in anything on the high-end side of things, but I figured if I was ever going to get one I might as well seize the opportunity to get it from Mike.
