Somebody with more moneyWho grabbed that sweet tbx On reverb? Came and went fast
No clue, but if I had that much money, I’d buy the Bubinga topped Q5 on there instead. That bass is beautiful.Who grabbed that sweet tbx On reverb? Came and went fast
I would lowball the heck out of that seller- they bought several of those 2006ish Modulus for approx $1800 each on ebay from a wholeseller and now are asking over $3k.No clue, but if I had that much money, I’d buy the Bubinga topped Q5 on there instead. That bass is beautiful.
That’s my plan. Currently trying to figure out how much I can spare for another bass. Not looking too good so far.I would lowball the heck out of that seller- they bought several of those 2006ish Modulus for approx $1800 each on ebay from a wholeseller and now are asking over $3k.

Think they were talking about an ‘83 I believe Q5 TBX that was there for like 2 hours or something. If you mean the black 6-string, that was me. See post #8258...or 8272.

Yeah, I think the ad said something like “rare one-piece neck-thru design” or something. I just called it a TBX as I thought they’d always been called that. Cool to see that they had the model before the name.1983 seems pretty early for Modulus to have been using the "TBX" suffix, pretty sure they didn't officially call the neck-thru models that (at least not in public) until '89 or '90. But yeah, I can see why a 1983 5-string would go quickly!
Yeah, the TBX didn't exist until we did the TB 5-string in the early 90's, with the wider neck. I don't have the dates memorized, but perhaps one of you has some old price lists which can date these changes.1983 seems pretty early for Modulus to have been using the "TBX" suffix, pretty sure they didn't officially call the neck-thru models that (at least not in public) until '89 or '90. there's a curious bird over at g.c.
it's a fless m-92 (made for a couple of years in the early 90's) but it has a '99 neck. kicker is that the '99 neck has the shorter neck extension into the body and rounded corners like the necks from the gould-era. so you basically get a truss rod on an early-style modulus neck. don't think i've seen these out in the wild much.

there's another one that's just popped up. it's from mike gordon's personal collection. with piezo's. the electronics setup reminds me of a peavey b-quad. wow...The TBX was a 93ish. Dated wrong on reverb
Bubinga top (?) cocobola board, mandolin frets
