Modulus Mob

No clue, but if I had that much money, I’d buy the Bubinga topped Q5 on there instead. That bass is beautiful.
I would lowball the heck out of that seller- they bought several of those 2006ish Modulus for approx $1800 each on ebay from a wholeseller and now are asking over $3k.

Think they were talking about an ‘83 I believe Q5 TBX that was there for like 2 hours or something.

1983 seems pretty early for Modulus to have been using the "TBX" suffix, pretty sure they didn't officially call the neck-thru models that (at least not in public) until '89 or '90. But yeah, I can see why a 1983 5-string would go quickly!

Yeah, I think the ad said something like “rare one-piece neck-thru design” or something. I just called it a TBX as I thought they’d always been called that. Cool to see that they had the model before the name.

there's a curious bird over at g.c.

it's a fless m-92 (made for a couple of years in the early 90's) but it has a '99 neck. kicker is that the '99 neck has the shorter neck extension into the body and rounded corners like the necks from the gould-era. so you basically get a truss rod on an early-style modulus neck. don't think i've seen these out in the wild much.

Yeah, the TBX didn't exist until we did the TB 5-string in the early 90's, with the wider neck. I don't have the dates memorized, but perhaps one of you has some old price lists which can date these changes.
