wow, has anyone visited the lowend site lately? don't know if it's from a store closing or a very, very nice personal collection but there's 16 modulus and 3 gould basses listed. the prices are a bit steep but it made for some drool-worthy window shopping.
i was a bit stunned to see one of the gould's listed that had the neck of one of my previous basses on another gould body. very bizarre.

I've seen the demos and I'm sure I would like it with my set up. However, back in around 2009 or so I owned the original Tech 21 Bass VT pedal & loved it (through my Corvette 4 string & Carvin 2x10 combo). So I just went with the sure bet & got a newer Bass VT pedal.I have been very impressed with the YYZ pedal and I think you would be too if you can try one. It’s one of the more unique offerings I’ve seen in a while with the way the EQ is programmed.

Hi everybody!
I’m looking for buy a Modulus.
Actually, in France, there is a used Modulus Sweetspot from 1996 in very good conditions. One EMG mic and no Truss.
What do you think about this model? And the range price?

Thank’s!
One has Bart single Both sound great which makes me wonder if there is just something about the combination of Barts and an all graphite neck that don't go together well.
I don't know if that is it, though there may be something in it. I used to have a Zoot fretless with a Musicman-style Bartolini humbucket and circuit. It sounded flat and dead, it just had no life in it. On the other hand, my Bogart Blackstone has Bartolini soapbars and a Noll three band preamp and sounds really rich and vibrant. I have always loved Bartolini for those softened highs and strong, pronounced mids. Their pickups certainly go well with graphite necks, as their treble-taming nature can cure the excessive bright overtones you may not want, whilst the graphite adds to the midrange punch and clarity that you do want.
I always enjoy seeing or hearing a Modulus with a Bartolini setup, though I did recently pass on a Q5 with Barts on the grounds that it wasn't really different enough from my Bogart to make it worth the spend. If it had had EMGs on board it may have been a different matter.
You though it’s interesting because the only bass I have ever owned that Bart pickups and pre worked well for was a pedullaone thing I have noticed is that Bartolini PUPs with Bart preamps don’t work well. The combo results in that deadness you talk about and some terribly muddled mid range.
