My good people: I've got an early to mid-80s Modulus Graphite BassStar, white body, no truss rod, Bartolini

pickup, active electronics, with no serial number. I have no idea what model, nor what it's worth. Thoughts?

Anyone know if Modulus ever made any short-scale basses in the early 90s?

I was on vacation in California around that time and visited The Bass Centre in Studio City. I saw lots of great stuff that day and specifically remember a red Modulus bass with a 2+2 headstock and a single pickup that appeared to be a short-scale. The body was also of a reduced size. I've never seen another or read about anything similar Modulus may have made back then.

Thoughts?

@Rumblefisher had a similar experience recently. I wonder if he got any response.

Hey Mod Mob!

Happy update. I messaged Joe Perman at [email protected] and...

He was not only kind enough to reply, he kindly took my order request for a Revolite 4 as well!

If you follow him on Instagram, he posts pictures and videos of recent builds, and they look fantastic!

Since speaking with Joe and being on the list for a Revolite, we have spoken a couple more times. Joe has been very attentive, and as or more communicative as I could have hoped. He's very busy building, so I don't want to set the expectation that he lives connected to a computer, but he has emailed and called me several times to discuss/finalize specifications. I have to say, I feel that Joe is as much or more of a "bass nerd" as us, and I say that with love! I mean to say that he is as into the detail oriented bits that turn even a great bass into an EXCEPTIONAL one, and I am very excited to post whenever my Revolite is built.

He did give me permission to post his email here, and for anyone looking for a new Modulus, the first step is to email Joe :)

Great news!

Is Tony no longer involved?

6 months on average I believe is what Joe said in our initial conversation…he called me probably 2 months after our initial conversation so it seems like that would be the correct timeline. I’m not 100% on that, I’ll clarify the next time I speak with him.
My experience with him so far is that if he says something he follows through! :)

Wow, that's terrific news about Joe. I have 17 custom build forms filled out with the specs. I'll just put them into one PDF file and send it to him.

j/k - I wish.
heheh... just join us and have mr. gould build you one. currently a six-month wait. quite a plethora of options to pick and choose from. plus, even as busy as he can get, geoff has been gracious with his time online when questions or comments arise...
