Brings a tear to my eye to read this thread. I miss my Moduli, but money gets tight sometimes...

WHEN (not *if*) I have the cash, I will be back to a Quantum 6... Hopefully, my Modulus arsenal will be a Q6 with natural top (almost any wood will do); a VJ fretless, Jaco-style; and I'd LOVE a Quantum in green-blue burst that is a dual-course 8-string. I've asked them about making me one but they never replied =0(

I thought you had to go through a dealer to get any work done on a custom Modulus. Hit up Bass Central or Planet Bass (Tony is awesome, he's getting my custom Q5) and see if that helps any.

I simply cannot WAIT for my beauty to be in!!!

Heads up. I might have a Modulus VJ on the auction block here pretty soon for anyone who's interested.

She's an 06 model, vintage burst, Bad Ass II bridge, Bart pups. I have one of two pre's I can ship with it, either an Aggy OBP-1 or an East J-Retro Deluxe. The East pre SLAMS in this bass.

I'm very hesitant to sell it, but the graphite thing seems to have run it's course with me. I love the stability of it, but sometimes I want to hear and feel more wood. That said, this bass is amazing. The VJ is the best bass Modulus makes to me, even over the Quantum.

you get a chechen fingerboard option!
My custom Q5 has one, as my main 1997 one does also.

Replacing the neck is too expensive. But if I ever own another Mod it will definitely have a chechen board.

Yeah I know. Just a 4 is $800 and up. Just if you're ever in the market for one in the first place, they're not terribly hard to find actually.

Good to see this thread didn't fall astray........being pretty new to this forum, I wasn't sure how these bounce around.

With my new band, I am strictly using my Flea 5 now. I have my (yes gorgeous, thanks) Q6 at home while I work on becoming more fluid on the 6.

The Flea 5 serves the groove of the band better for now........I even bought a cheapy OLP mm-3 for a "probably never use" live back up to the Flea 5, so I don't have to haul around the Q6 to shows just to be a backup.

That's an awesome Flea my friend. I really do miss mine at times when I need something more simple to keep the lines movin' and groovin'!

And yeah, I did best I could to see if anyone was rocking the "M" logo and I've had it up for a while, but it's really no big deal.

Hahaha, Ok, I've put it up a few times for trade in the classifieds, but pulled it. I like it quite a bit. its got a lot of dings and some imperfections, quite a few, but it plays and sounds awesome and has a ton of mojo.

Modulus Basses are some of the finest out there. I had a chance to tour the S.F. shop before they moved to Novato. Great people working there and they had some awesome guitars lined up that would make you drool! I owned 3 at one time but now I'm down to just one. I love my Modulus Q5SS but after consideration I descided to sell it here. I can't belive I have not have any interest in it at all. Go figure. But, if you guys know someone looking to be part of this group check it out in the FS forum. Here is a teaser:
