Well, the pedal has only an A out, B out, single Master out or Blend. The Magma has effects loops for each channel, two Master line outs, DI out.

The pedal is a stripped down version with respect to the rear panel but the business end is still the same. :D

Sorry to be so meddlesome (it's my nature) but I think for the pedal format a LOT of potential buyers would be willing to lose one or two of the 1/4" outs in exchange for a DI out. Not a big deal issue, just something to consider as an option.

I look forward to seeing the production version!

Oh I'm not claiming expertise, just remembering all the hoopla here about adding a DI out to the VT Bass pedal, and how glad people were when the VT Deluxe included a DI. It certainly wouldn't be a big deal though, since people can always use an external DI box of their choosing.

I think a DI out on the pedal is a great idea! I'm curious why you fellas think it would only be beneficial on the head only? If this pre is all it's cracked up to be, guys will want to send it to the FOH over perhaps their backline rig DI. I know many guys end up using backline rigs of all natures and a pre pedal is a great way to bring a little consistency to ones tone. This is the very reason so many others have moved from the VT Bass to the VT Bass Deluxe or had their original VT Bass modded for a balanced DI out.

I agree with Bongo and think there would be more of a market for a ultra deluxe pedal over the head and/or rack.

The intended clientele will not be the "send a signal to the house type". Monolith understands that. Talkbass is only a small percentage of all the bass players in the world and those that play with FOH is even smaller.
