Monster Cable

Just a heads up, had a couple of Monster cables develop intermittent shorts, contacted them on June 26, 2021, just got a reply today ( February 15, 2022 ), they basically said no receipt, no warranty, so I guess I'm out of luck,and I believe Guitar center, doesn't do warranty exchange any more, I asked ...... as to the receipt, I think I was smart, I photo-copied the thermal paper receipt, but the storage place where I kept my paper backups, was involved, in a fire, lost photos & paperwork, just the luck of the draw
As a side note, I switched to the D'Addario PW series of cable, they have the Neutrik ends, and they seem to be made very well.
So as a warning, buyer beware

If you have a soldering iron you can buy some connectors and cable and make your own. I get my parts from Parts Express.

They knowingly were using larger than standard connectors at one time so they would fit snugly & it ruined the jacks for standard sized plugs.

The fact that they made or make a BASS specific instrument cable makes me just shake my head.

I was gifted one of their bass-specific cables, the Prolink for bass. It colored by sound... was happy to get rid of it.

Cables from American Stage by Planet Waves continue to treat me well.

Guitar center should be able to pull up any of your receipts or anything going back like over a decade.

I use SORRY cables lately. Neutron ends, cool colors, great customer service. When my 20ft blue cable got lost by USPS they covered all expenses to overnight me one.

I have one of those, bought it many years ago. I loaned to a guy at a gig, and I just told him to keep it. My two main instrument cables I swear by are 15 year old Zaolla cables that have toured and been beat up, stepped, on, beer poured on, you name it. Still going strong to this day.

Another vote for DIY. I've been using the same cables I built myself for about 15 years. Canare GS-6 cable with Neutrik connectors.

Every Monster Cable I've owned has eventually failed. Having a good warranty is nice and all, but their failure rate is way too high for my confidence.

I, too, got suckered in by Il Monstro quite a few years ago, until, as noted, they did NOT want to plug into the Alembics with those OD plugs, and they had the strain relief of chewing gum.

I have a couple of their newer bass cables and haven't had any issues with them. I also make my own with Neutrik connectors / Mogami cable and they've done well also.

It was enough to warn me off....cause Phil said so...

If you’re talking about Essentiel Sound Products AC cords, they actually work! You can hear the difference.

Broke a few monster cables, lost the receipt. Now I just buy cheap or medium priced ones and always have extras.
