How about trying shooter's earmuffs over your IEM's? That'll give you another 25-30dB of protection.

It's probably not the look.... But even if you could get away with just trying it for one set, maybe it would help get an idea of what's possible given adequate isolation.
As with IEMs, fit can be an issue: they'll need to fit over your ears and your IEMs, and stay in place and be comfortable to wear for a few hours, and they need to make a good seal against the side of your head. Last I checked Amazon had multiple options in the $15-$20 range so it's not too expensive to experiment. I don't think you need the ones with active electronics.
(Mainly though it sounds like the sound guy needs to turn down. It's not healthy for the guests either, and I bet some of them feel the same way @Joe Nerve does.)

this way you can lower your in ears and still block out alot of stage noise.
Wish your sound person would fix your permissions
TBH I can no longer handle being in a room with live drums anymore without hearing protection.
Between my custom mold IEM and shooter muff. with respectfully drummers who understand the pain to the ears. Have been trying to save my hearing or what's left of them for years now. Its a real battle.
and like others have said, I too have notice how loud it is when you pull out your IEM at gigs.
So I normally wait until I'm in my vehicle to pull them out.

Had impressions made last week. Texted them to JH and they said they were too shallow

Had them redone today and was told they look great

Paid $150 for the impressions, but found that's pretty much the going rate here in NYC. I'm fine with that. Audiologists were awesome, felt like I was with family.
I'm sending the impressions in tomorrow, and hoping to have these within 3 weeks.
I will report back then.
With shipping tomorrow the total cost (including impressions) will be around $1,280. I'm documenting that for my future reference.

Thats the exact model of JH Audio IEMs I’m considering to replace my 6-year-old 64 Audio Quad buds. The 64s have and are still serving me well, but I want a new set on hand before I need them.
The JH11s are very popular with a set of very good players that I’m fortunate to be working with.
And I’m glad to see that you went with a set of professional-quality IEMs that are pricy, but are worth every penny. I’ll be burned at the stake for saying this, but I’ve tried a bunch of the under-several hundred dollar generic buds and hated every one of them, except for the fairly decent Westone UM30 Pros. But I’m glad a lot of players are satisfied with them.
Best of luck to you with the JH Audio IEMs and I look forward to reading about your experiences with them. It may not be “love at first listen”, as it took me about a week to really like, then really love my 64 Audio units, but I’m pretty sure you’ll like them well enough and soon enough.

I’m leaning towards one of these and probably waiting till Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales.
Why did you choose what you did? Is the 64 Audio A6 that much of an improved sound stage over the A4? Is the Alclair really inferior to the three big names? Head spinning.
Alclair told me that closing out all ambient noise is more important than the Apex ambient ports. Yet Alclair seems to be working on their own ambient feature.
Is the bass adjustable feature on the JH product really that useful?

3 of the 4 companies you listed are more focused on the audiophile market and have basically priced themselves as such aka well overpriced. Personally If going off the sound of 64 audio universal fit iems is anything to go off of atleast my kz iems have sounded equally as good and in some cases better. I also have friends that have used the Adel tech and the new apex design from 64 audio that much prefer the Adel tech so I'd look into companies using Adel if you are wanting ambient . I also have compared shure se 215 to the Alclair dual driver versa customs and it was a better fit obviously with it being custom mold but the sound wasn't a big upgrade that made me nervous to try any of their more expensive offerings. I would recommend doing alot research before pulling the trigger on any of these 4 companies. I'm personally looking for a new set of custom mold iem's myself I had bought the Anthem five e2 dual driver iem's and they sound good but I've had the cable pins break in the port on me twice already and I'm not wanting to keep having to hassle with it. I still haven't found a new company for customs yet that I trust enough to dump that kind of money yet sadly I have just found the level of diminishing returns on most custom mold iem's so far to be unacceptable as I can get a set of kz Ast iem's with 12 balanced armature drivers per ear for about $100 that will smoke 90% of the stuff out there it's just not worth it to me having to spend over $1k more for custom mold iem's just to be able to reach that same sound quality. If/ when I do find a fairly priced custom option I'll be sure to check in.
Thanks. From what I can tell the KZ AST offers a quite different sound stage than the IEM’s I am considering. Notably the more balanced curve and lack of emphasis on the low end. And I’m really looking for custom mold IEM’s. But I do like the price of those.
I got molds taken recently and have them sent in to Sensaphonics. Getting the 2X-S and a new set of 25 db plugs. About $1,050 total, including impressions. I'm hoping for a better and more comfortable seal than my universal Shure 535's. I do get a good seal with the 535's but could use a more comfortable feeling IEM.

I was going to get sleeves for my Shure buds. I inquired as to the amount of isolation between the sleeves and their custom molds. This is the reply I got: “As for the difference in isolation between a fully custom IEM like the 2X-S and custom sleeves. The fully custom IEMs will give more isolation than the sleeves- 45dB of isolation which translates to about 37dB across all frequencies. The sleeves will give about 28-32dB of isolation- because you are putting a custom sleeve onto a universal fit the isolation isn’t quite as much as the fully custom version.”
I got a response immediately and called them to discuss products. Super nice and informative. I figure….What the heck. It all depends on the mold anyway. If my impressions are good I should be pleased.

They have been around since the late 80’s. IIRC. Been doing IEM’s since early 90’s..
They are one of the first companies to make iems along with Jerry harvey who formerly was with ultimate ears and Westone
They just haven't been as popular I think it's due to their use of silicone for molds as opposed to hardened acrylic/resin. Silicone wears out over time and needs to be replaced as expensive as custom iem's are I think that scared alot of potential customers away. The softer silicone Sensaphonics use is more comfortable I'm sure and they offer ambient binaural mics so they are unique to their competitors.

Have another 3 wedding weekend next week and hoping to get them before.
Just venting.
In the meantime, I've been going hard on ramming my current IEMS down my ear canal and found that by twisting and playing around with them once they're in I can get a better seal than I was. I used to be afraid of going too deep and damaging my eardrum, but after having the molds made, well... I got a little gutsy.
I'm really hoping these monitors make a difference.
I'm not in the habit of flinging $1300 out the window, which will essentially be what I did if they don't isolate any better than what I'm using now.
