More than one P? J? Ray? Other?

Do you have more than one copy of a particular type of bass? Maybe two PJ basses? Or perhaps a pair of J basses? I'm wondering if one type if bass is more likely to be duplicated in one's collection?

I’ve never owned two of the same bass. But if I did, I can certainly understand the expanded tonal pallet of have different string types on each bass.

In the past I’ve had two split coil Ps and two Steinberger L2s (fretted and fretless) but that’s it. Today I have no dupes at all.

I could say the rounds/flats/backup things, but really I just have a problem

Mebbe I missed it but are A/E basses not to be considered? I have one fretted and one fretless and a lot of fun with each.

The only actual dupes I have are a pair of L2000's, an '80's and a '24, altho' I have variations on others (Jazz, P, PJ, MM, headless, etc.)

I'm clearly in the minority because I have 2 Rickenbacker 4003s. My 2012 has rounds and stock pickups and my 2022 has flats and custom Nordstrand pickups.

I don't feel guilty whatsoever because I love them!

No duplicates, but some strategic overlaps. I’ve ended up with a P, a J, and a PJ that’s its own thing, but can do duty for both if need be. Plus a wildcard shortscale with double humbuckers, just for funsies.
