Yeah, and right as he was still speaking....
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Ryan Seacrest..."
(Grohl continues talking)
(blackout and mute mic on Grohl)
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, RYAN SEACREST!"

Deadmau5 didn't get the memo.
I just want hip-hop to die,at this point I liken it to where hair metal was in 1995. Its just making a fool of itself. The rappers aren't putting any effort into it, usually not even rapping or following any rhythmic patterns at all while they talk over sub-sub-par beats with material that consists of talking about their clothes, jewelry, car, punk @$$ bitches, and what girls are doing to his crotch. Just die hip hop, die.

This sentiment drives me crazy. You are generalising a whole genre based on a few isolated snippets off the radio. Those songs are also ridiculed in hip-hop circles, they are not wholly representative of a genre which includes some very talented people. I feel that it's safe to assume that you haven't listened to any hip-hop outside of the 'popular' stuff out there. It would be like me criticising rock music after only hearing Creed and Nickleback.

I concur.
As far as using computers, if you google "what is music", this is the first definition that comes up:
Music is
The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sound
It doesn't say anywhere that you cant use technology to do it. Who really cares (beside Dave Grohl) how you get there?
It's entertainment people, as long as people are being entertained, what's the problem?
music snobs - meh!
foo fighters are just safely agressive formulaic pop music. not that inspiring.
I don't think that he was so much bashing computerized music as he was the entire musical production process these days, which can basically put any number of musical hacks in a studio for several weeks with a good producer and a lot of hard drive space and get something decent to pop out on the other end. Add to the fact that so many artists today don't have instrumentalists in the band at all, but simply assemble a bunch of folks to record an album, and then assemble another slew of folks to go on tour, and it leaves many folks wanting for the old days when there where more bands than there were entertainment acts. In that regard, I think Dave was being positive and not really slamming anyone. If he took a moment of self-pride, then so be it. He has worked hard throughout his career, and has gone through all the real ups and downs that it seems most bands go through. Dave has my complete respect an admiration. Whether or not someone personally likes the Foo Fighters music or not really shouldn't matter with regard to what he said.
