Mosh Pit

The latter is exactly it. And generally there is a good reason for it. I've heard so many people say things like "Doesn't anybody here speak english?" in an outraged tone in restaurants in France that I dont disagree with some remarks the french may tell tourists who make no effort in the least to learn common french words like Merci or S'il vous plait.

That makes sense. I couldn't imagine speaking any arabic, comming to Australia and yelling in arabic.

As for an asian decent lady speaking with english accent. We have a news reader here who speaks absolute pure english but obvously is from china. It does look very funny but it's just a stupid mindset.

I'm sure a white round eye speaking with a pure chinese accent on chinese TV would look funny too.

One of the guys I work with here is chinese but he have a very strong aussie outback accent. The fist time I ever spoke to him was on the phone and then when I met him and he spoke I just about fell over. He looked like a puppet!!!!

He's more of an aussie than most aussies!!!

And his name is Kevin Chan. Lucky Kev.

I think it's funny to hear an Asian speak with a southern accent! I talk like a Chicagoan. Da Bears!

British and Australian accents are awesome and sexy. And cute when I hear children speak with them!

Oh so we're going to play that game well put you money where you mouth is. Oh wait you have no money because you've been spending it all on greasy hamburgers and hungryman meals making a percentage of the world even heavier, pfhht Devils suck by the way Ottawa will win.

Snob we're bigger than you! You know I defend the french when they are offended by some people but you are an exception.

I'm originally from Toronto by the way and although I'm not a "Frenchie wannabe" what's the problem with being French? Why are there a # of Americans who call the French cowards? Also I don't care how many cups the devils one they suck!:p By the way PEI is awesome!:hyper:

I know I'm harping on this but an extremley high degree of people here love the fact that we have diversity of race here. You can drive for 5 mins and get the best resturaunt of any culture without effort.

Even french....... french fries from Burger King.

Nahh, you can get french. Aussies love Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Indian, Mexican and hell even American.

We did have a really cool 50's style American Hambuger place here but they closed. Darn it, not your trashy take away dog food hamburgers either. The real deal just like I had there in the west micro breweries etc.

Diversity of race is ace.

What's the first thing the French army learns to do when they go into battle?

Surrender!

It's a slightly nasty, nationalistic joke that stems from WWII. It primarily indicted the Vichy government, which most French did not support. That government complied and collaborated with the Germans, after the German army steamrolled through France.

That, together with the general stereotype of French preciousness and snobbery, leads some Americans to believe that the French are weak and feminine.

However, for most Americans, the belief that the French are girly collaborating cowards is more an idicator that the person to whom one is speaking is an idiot. Therefore, when we make such jokes, we're ironically indicting ourselves.

See? You should never explain humor. It sucks the fun right out of any joke!

Oh, and by the way...

Devils rule! (Even if I am a Rangers fan) :bassist:

PEI is very cool

And, my amp was built in Ontario; so, how bad could it be? ;)

Go sew a white flag and eat some cheese, Frenchie! ;) :p
