Things can get downright nasty in the Amps section pretty quickly. There’s a very vocal but small segment of folks that post very condescendingly toward less informed posters and are quick to belittle or mock others ignorance instead of offering helpful advice. Thankfully, that has mostly gone away and has been replaced by very short, technical replies that are beyond the understanding of most with a mere pedestrian knowledge of how amps and cabs work, but at least it’s not mean.

Reactions: Crater and Artman
This is in bass humor because I want to keep it lighthearted and fun. I have noticed, this morning alone, multiple posts about hot button issues that inevitably open a huge can of worms with riots in the streets, burning buildings, and the collapse of society as we know it ensuing. Example, the classic fender vs musicman: civil war or the INFAMOUS best bass for metal, punk, or postmodern classical progressive jazz gaelic fusion with Uncle Dave on the uilleann pipes. The new one unknown to me was pike electronics vs Darkglass. We've all seen THAT GUY post some rant about how the fender elite, or stingray, or ric, or [insert your favorite brand here] he bought was an overpriced POS. Then Fenderboy1986 or MMRay511 comes swinging in from the moral high ground with his lasso of superiority (apologies if that is actually someones TB tag no offense intended) and begins WWIII. So why is it that we cant just get along? Poll for kicks. Also carrots.

That's easy and you forgot it: tone wood.

Discussions about whether or not selling drinks for a venue should (or is) your band's primary reason for existence tend to get pretty heated.

Discussions about whether it's acceptable for band members to show up for - or get buzzed during - a rehearsal or gig also tend to generate more heat than light around here.
