Most of what we play might qualify as obscure covers (see signature), but I'll say "Space Patrol" by Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra.

Or maybe the theme from Hitchcock's Vertigo.

Or the theme from Dead Alive.

Or maybe the theme from Citta Violenta.

    Magnum Force?

"Backstrokin'" and "Secret Song" by Mr. Bungle

"Temptation (In 3 Movements)" by Juan Garcia Esquivel

Depends on one's idea of "obscure", I guess.

Tunes by Hermano and Kyuss. The vast majority thought they were originals, but it was awesome when someone recognized them.

  6. My band does video game covers sometimes, so I think that's a bit obscure in general. Green Hill Zone gets a lot crowd reaction, as does Mortal Kombat.

We do - almost every performance. That, and a ton of others.

Then again, Beatles is ALL we do!

My son's band Saloon No. 12 does some cool obscure tunes, including:

    Valerie - The Zutons
Cult of Personality - Living Color
The Real Me - The Who
Hey Bulldog - The Beatles (although they do it more like Toad the Wet Sprocket)
Since I've Been Living You - Led Zeppelin
I Should Have Known It - Tom Petty
Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo

You should think about it. The only cover bands that get more than a walk away from me are the ones that go the obscurity route. I can't be the only one. Or am I?

  18. Maybe not too obscure for the genre, but little known by a lot of people:
    Slaid Cleaves- Hard to Believe
Doug Sahm- Give Back the key to my heart
Townes Van Zandt- White Freightliner Blues
