Still don't know what this has to do with bass amps......but I'll roll with it.I prefer to drive with Callaway's. Since when did GM, Ford, and Chrysler make drivers? And what does that have to do with motorcycles? Is Fender now making motorcycles???? Man, I'm really confused now.
It applies to not being posted in the right thread, and how Fenders are the most recognized and most used bass since it's inception.

I met a few hookers outside the CBS building. They too were overpriced. Then again, I think all hookers are overpriced since I can get it for free, anywhere, anytime.

Yeah, my guess is they are playing Fenders...or Fender clones (Lakland, Sadowsky).
I mean, why not? They've been the industry standard for over 50 years.

I don't know about anyone else, but in my early days on TB, I asked some pretty "green" questions myself. All of us were "inexperienced guys" at a point in time.

I saw a 7 band show a couple weeks ago. I saw 5 P basses, 1 J, and an Ibanez.
Last show I saw was a 2 band show. Had a Sadowsky J and a Schecter Stiletto.
Frankly, with as many Fender and Fender-like basses as there are out there, I'm kinda bored with them - but they are the industry standard.

ok... you guys have had your fun at my expense...thats cool....i have never played a fender and do not like the sound of my current soundgear bass and am considering a change....when i play the midrange i get lost in the mix....i was just wondering if they are better in the mid's and high's.....thanks to all the comedians on TB...got a good laugh at my own expense.....guess it was kind of newbie question....as far it being in the amp section,i did it by mistake and couldn't figure out how to change it.....
I don't think anyone was having fun "at your expense" - merely just "having fun". Life isn't meant to be serious all the time. Nobody made fun of you, and the harshest thing said was that this thread was posted in the wrong forum.
As for Fenders, as mentioned, they just sit in a really good frequency range for live use. The sound "glues" the band together tonally. It's hard to explain until you hear the same band playing the same song twice - once with the bass player playing a Fender, once with a different bass.
Apologies if you took our "having fun" as an insult. It certainly wasn't meant to be (by any of us, I don't think).
Apologies if I offended you in any way. For some of us who have been playing since a time when about the only bass you could find was a Fender, it just seems like a strange question.
And anyone just getting into playing bass that comes on TB and takes one look at the bass forum, no wonder that person wouldn't know Fender is the industry standard. Fender is a dirty word to some who love the many bass choices we have today.
But honestly, if you want to be a bass player, go back and listen to everything you can, from all kinds of recorded music since the electric bass was invented. Study the history of music and electric bass. It will give you a solid foundation to build a hobby or career out of.
no i didnt get offended by anyone...actually i found it amusing....we all need a good laugh...just glad i could help....as far as being e newbie,i have been playing since i was 14 ( 43 now )....just have never played fender and was just curious.....and yes, life is too short not to laugh...even if its at me....i can take it....thanks guys...
That is hard to believe.
You should keep up the streak and consider never playing a Fender just for novelty's sake.
