"MuDvAyNe is nothing CLOSE to thrash metal."
>>>Sorry.... I dont know **** about metal... Just not my scene, didnt mean to annoy you, just being a dumbass!
Name me a 'popular' (as popular as possible anyway!) thrash metal band and tell me why and how they are a different genre to Mudvayne? - Please, I am interested to learn the difference?
"Obviously the only song you've heard is "dig""
Actually, no... I bought LD50... I have to admit I couldnt listen all the way through, it just doenst appeal to me... I was interested to hear what the bass player was doing cause I'd heard he was good.
I will give it another try sometime though.
What I dont get is 'that' drum sound... I saw a video on MTV Europe the other day of this band and they sounded like a giant typewriter, serioulsy!
The lyrics too, "cakesucker this" and "scum freaker" that... what happened to nice songs about love, money and weeping guitars? (sarky git!)
"While that IS a good song, it totally misrepresents MuDvAyNe's sound/style. Listen to songs like "death blooms", "nothing to gein", or "severed" and you'll see that there's more to the MuD than lightning fast riffs and growling vocals. They DO have their (at least what i consider) melodic side."
>>This is interesting. Mudvayne are tuned down about 8 steps or something... it's barely melodic when played that low, becasue the human ear can hardly distinguish one note from another.
"If you take the time to "open your mind" the peices will fall in place..."
>>>I hate being told to open my mind! - Seriouly, if I had a closed mind I wouldnt have bought it in the first place, right! - at least I gave it a try and I will give it another, in time!
"I do, however, repect your view of MuDvAyNe as NOT being a breath of fresh air"
>>>I suppose if you're really into heavy **** then it is a luxury after all this rap-rock, limp bizkit crap. It just doesnt sound especially original to me... but then what does?
I'll try it again
