OK chaps, I gave it another try at the weekend and I got through 3 tracks this time... the 2nd track on th album, had a pretty nice groove to it actually.... I dig!
But... (there's always one) the vocals just dont do it for me... like this screaming main vocal and a screaming backing vocals, it just didnt make a sound that I found palattable ... I'm not dissing it.
Ryknow, yeah he's prety damned good, he sounds pretty original to me too... but i still dont like his style much... I will listen more and update if/when it hits me!!!
Oh.. and... Plz dont think I was slating Mudvayne because I think they're un-original... I dont think that at all... they're just not my breath of fresh air.

My band plays rock. We dont focus on being original, on having an original sound or stage show or anything... we just try to write good songs and rock out.

I agree with you: being original is great if it just happens but it's not something to strive for...
Nothing replaces a good teacher...the money is absolutely worth it. However, there are some good sights, but i'd still suggest a teacher, HEAVILY.
