I'm totally into the new passive Music Man basses - and am also a committed 5 string guy, so yeah, I do agree. I've been gigging nothing but the Caprice and the Cutlass basses lately. Be still, my heart.

On the other hand, I think - okay, I KNOW - there will be enough stuff to excite the masses come NAMM time.

There's a lot of engineering to do to make a Caprice 5, and it might not work at all without making the body bigger. I've been in a mode of playing a 4 string whenever possible anyway, and it gives you an excuse to get a Sadowsky 5 or SR5 for when you need it. Let's lobby for fingerboard choice first!

Exactly. That I don't understand, why you can't choose fingerboard wood. You can with every other model (from what I'm aware). They're going to be making rosewood and maple ANYWAY for the various colors. Charge an extra $50 or something. Pickguards I don't care about because those are easily swapped.

meh, two of the most uncomfortable basses i've owned...i actually gave sadowsky two chances...yuk, no thanks...i've only been playing a 4 for the past two or three years...i do have my eyes on the new ash-topped ibanez sound gear with the black stain and the reverend wattplower, though...
