Beautiful children you have !
Yep I´m still looking and thinking , no rush in that time .
The votes it´s almost tied , but I´m felling more aggressive and detailed sounds with fingers on H model .

I´m not decided yet and I think will be for the next year .

The beasts I'm looking for ATM:

I have owned both the Stingray HH (wired in parallel) and the Sterling HH (wired in series). Being a longtime G&L player, I was hoping to get the same versatility as a G&L, plus the MM tone. I found that I had to reduce the bass response whenever I added in the neck pickup. This is because the MM preamp is voiced for the bridge pickup. I wound up going back to the single H, because having the one pickup with the 3 way switch was more useful in live situations.

I'm seriously thinking about getting the H.

Same here. Well, I already own one but if I had to go for another MM, I think I'll go for another H. According to what I've read, it seems more adapted to live than the HH.
Well I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree there. I've got several HH and H Stingray basses.

Firstly the HH does everything the H does with the possible exception that the neck pick up might make extensive slap playing marginally more difficult - nothing you can't get used to as with any bass with a neck pick up.

Position 3 (centre) is scooped - fabulous slap tone (in fact the exact Louis Johnson one such as on Stomp). However you need the bass and treble on centre for this and the mids either on centre or boosted a bit. I use this setting regularly live and it cuts through just fine.

The other pick up selections provide other flavours. They are all very usable and include a good dub reggae and also modern beefed up F Jazz sound. Note subtle changes of EQ setting assist - if you set exactly as you would set an H then you may need to adjust a little to get the best results - the sound's coming from a different string location.

So the HH provides a lot more flexibility than the H but does exactly what the H does as well. So there's nothing to not like!!!

In my old SR5 H , I nerver used another position than the 1st ( closer to the brifge ) . Is It parallel in that position ?
If the HH has the same sound in that position ( bridge pickup ) , it looks like a good ideia to try a HH .

Waiting for some adivice for MM players .

Everyone is going to have their own opinion about this. As a matter of pure aesthetics, I don't think the HH looks as cool as the single H. Sonically I don't find the neck pickup all that useful -- others disagree. I have a Big Al SSS and actually wish it was a simple single H.

That setting on the H is parallel and the same as the HH bridge humbucker setting. Like you I nearly always use the parallel humbucker setting on my SR5 H.

King Biscuit is right that the series setting is useful in the H version of the SR5 - but there again the others in the HH also are and I guess the aesthetics of H v HH is down to personal taste. I personally like both a lot and think Stingrays are great aesthetically - especially with these roasted maple and new colour details.

I'm in the market for a Special and would get the HH for the front thumb rest alone.

I like the tension on the front pickup, so the extra tones are a complete bonus for me.

Aesthetics I like both and what you said was a good reason to think about HH.

I'll try a better shoot .

I wanna that parallel single bridge aggressive sound that I love it when I play on my old MM SR5 H arround 2007 , if a HH do these same job (tone) and gimme some extra features , maybe it will be a good choice , don´t you ?

Noob question for no doubts : Again - The Slingle SR5 H in the 1st position nearby to the bridge is parallel mode right and the HH has the same switch 1st position nearby to the bridge is parallel too ?

H have 3 switch one H - HH 5 switch two HH , but on the 1st switch ( near to the bridge is the same sound in both basses ) ?

Yes. @drTSTingray answered your question in post #91.

On the 5HH, all 5 switch positions are parallel. So, switch closest to the bridge is parallel/bridge pickup only. On the 5-string single-H with the 3 switch positions, the switch position closest to the bridge is also parallel, so it's the same as the 5HH when each switch is closest to the bridge.

I found that in MM website :

So I´m thinking to get the HH more , it will give me more tone variations I can play than H that I used only 1st position period . I´m not a fan of slap technics , I use it rarely in my songs .

Are they have the same sound in 1sth position , for the MM players ?

I spent the better part of the day today solving this debate fir myself and what made my decision up was that the HH had enough versatility AND the sacred bridge tone to not make me feel like it was an issue. Add some mids to the parallel bridge mode and it's close enough for me. I rarely slap so the pickup spacing doesn't matter to me. Positions 5, 4 and 1 are plenty useful to me. Went with the ebony boarded Charcoal sparkle.
