Music Man StingRay Club | PART FIVE

Well ... I am a complete virgin to Stingray or anything else MusicMan - other than a MusicMan version of the Twin Reverb amp (hybrid solid state plus tubes) I picked up back when they first came out. Always like the sound whenever I hear a good player on a Stingray (loved watching Tony Levin play the Yellow one on the Three of a Perfect Pair video ages ago).

And UPS just dropped off my first Stingray and I can't stop playing it. woohoo!

It's a '94 Trans Teal with 3 band EQ, maple fingerboard, mute bridge (flea) and 6 bolt neck. I think this is one of the last mute bridge and metal battery cover?

That's a beauty. If I remember correctly, mine is a '93 teal. Mine has a rosewood board but an absolute insane birds-eye neck. These early 90's really get snarly if you dig in.

I bought this '08 EBMM Stingray 5 w/Piezo bridge pickups a couple of years ago on Ebay.
Everything is stock except for the pickguard, and I only replaced that because I ruined the old one. How 'bouta number for this lil' ol' ray.

Beautiful SR5. Props to the Smoothie. Excellent choices. Excellent tones.
Review on the Aggie rig?
One word: AWESOME!
Not much I know, but I love it. Does everything I need and more. Might spring for a 4x10 cab in the future, but the pair of DB112s sound great. I just shut off the tweeter on the one hat has the tweeter installed.

I called all the Musicman dealers in my province(Canada), there is no clearance on 2017 Musicman basses. Is it the same in the U.S.A.?

The dealers also told me that Musicman have no more 2017 SR5 in stock.... :(
Keep an eye on L&M. I picked up my SR5 for a really good price at my local L&M, but I've seen them in the store specials section on their website more than once (and they're always happy to bring stuff in for you from another province).

Great player. And rare now. No longer make Piezo's nor matching headstocks.
And likely in near the future, oem pick guards. Fact is I'd love to locate a black
Pearloid guard for my SR5 Piezo for the variety but only place I know is
Pickguard Heaven for these 5 hole models.

I got my replacement PG from this guy in WV called West Virginia Wood Arts. All manner of custom laser cut pickguards, truss rod covers, control cavity covers, drum sticks & pretty much any sort of custom engraved object. Mine's a thin slab of purpleheart but they work in a wide variety of materials.

Oh- and not for nothin but that swirl PG you have is super cool. If you are looking to unload it let me know !

Yes- saw that. VERY nice. Exotic(?) woods really add an extra layer of understated beauty
if properly chosen. Always been a fan of natural wood finishes over different colors of any
horse. Well, except for non- color black; which is literally a different thread.
Being as a custom- cut 5 hole PG is more costly, and involves sending your existing
in as a template I'll prob take the short cut back to EB in this instance.
"Swirl PG". You mean the tort?/ talking to me?

Sorry, got my posts mixed up. There was another post with a cool swirl PG, thought it was yours and that you were looking to change it out.
This is the purpleheart PG that WV Wood Arts made for me. It was not cheap but they did a very nice job for what I wanted.

I got this one at pickguardplanet.com They contacted me after I ordered, requested more info and pics of the bass, they got it right, and I was very pleased.
