I agree, but be ready to take some piano coarses along with plenty of "site screaming and ear straining" (site singing and ear training) which is reading music and singing it. For many people who want to learn to play bass better, this was an unexpected surprise. It was for me!
25 years later it make lots of sense. It sure didn't at that time, when all I wanted to play was "Smokin in the Boys Room" (Brownsville Station for all you old farts).
