...I only buy used gear from the US. the local used gear market is out to lunch in Halifax. Rarely are there new-ish items and pricing is almost always out of whack with what I see on talkbass. That's the reason I first became a member!

+1 Same situation in Vancouver. Rarely do we have any decent used deals locally.

I order stuff to a parcel pickup in North Dakota all the time. It's only about an hour drive from Winnipeg, and if I'm feeling extra lazy, my folks live even closer to the border than I do...

Me too. An awesome $900 deal on a used Conklin BDGT-7 certainly warranted me taking an hour drive to pickup my parcel. The icing on the cake was the item actually arrived for pickup on my birthday last year. Plus, I declared my bass and the border guart waved me through.

Deals aside, I grew tired of the blank looks on local music shop employees face when I inquired about my options when I was interested in buying a 7-string.
