I lost out on stflbn's BA5, but not to be deterred, now have new BA5 incoming from Beaver and the dudes at GAS Central. Funny, some of you will recognize it from my last time around in this club. Pics to come.
Second time is the charm, I didn't bond with first ( me not the bass ) I wanted to get a full maple neck and decided to take another shot. I'm glad I did, it definitely has enough tonal difference from my 25th. I didn't think it was possible to dig the passive tones more than the 25th but these are just freaking sick. I'm not letting this one escape. I have a Tort guard on order for it as well.

Here is my relatively new BA 5 with some different guards. I'm leaving the Tort on which looks way better in real life, I need a new camera, but I think all three look good, as each one gives it a different vibe. I bought the Black as i originally was getting it in Black but decided on the Candy Red which is a Happy Days color for me (63 on Saturday so I guess I'm officially a freakin' geezer, luckily I stopped maturing before I hit 30 ) I am really digging this bass definitely a keeper for me.

I do... I'm the new owner of stflbn's sapphire black w/maple fretboard Big Al 5 SSS. My first impressions are that Big Al has an amazing tonal range and has probably made at least a few of my other basses "superfluous!"

I'm back in the club, as an official member (#2 ). I should have never let my BA4SSS go, so I replaced it, with nearly the identical bass, except now it has this handy thumbrest called a B string.
I just love this combo, white pearl + tort. You can't really see the sparkly white finish in the photos, but I know its there, and I love it.
