The bass wears GHS Brite Flats for the full monty. The original strap is no longer secure enough to use.

I expected it to be #2 behind my Sadowsky or maybe #3 behind my Sadowsky and my D-Roc, but while the honeymoon is on, it sits at #1.

Ah frost green pearl, that is what I meant, just forgot the actual name. I think it looks great with the white pickguard.

Those are all awesome looking. I'm not huge on bursts but that fretless stirling looks great with that fretboard (is that pao ferro?). Really, each of those basses has something unique going on. The big al with rosewood neck, the bongo with figured maple neck instead of the usual painted neck, and the ray with matching headstock. So nice.

It’s actually the DarkRay that opened my eyes back up to the StingRay, in general. I had a Sterling S.U.B. years ago, but never took the EBMM dive until recently.

I just love the on-board fuzz circuit idea. Let us know how it plays after you get settled in!

I also started with a SUB, then moved up to an EBMM SUB then an actual StingRay, although I wasn’t a fan of the trans orange color. My wife wanted to get me a Sandberg since I had been fawning over them forever, but the 9 month wait time turned me off. I’m so glad I chose this bass.

The onboard fuzz and distortion is really nice. It doesn’t sound muddy at all and with the gain and blend knobs you really have a ton of control over it.

Well, once my retirement plan of winning the lottery comes to fruition, I’m definitely gonna pick up a DarkRay.
