Incoming 1980 Sabre. I've never played one or really ever paid attention to them. This one jumped out at me and I actually had some cash. Boom!

You have my most favoritist bass on this whole club. I still have a Sabre, but REALLY hated to give that one up. Play it in good spirits and good health. Since you have such a sweet bass, you get to share a number with Sweetness himself....

Having previously owned 15 different USA Stingrays, Bongos, Big Als, and a highly modified fretless 78 Sabre project... I find myself currently without a Music Man

I plan to fill the void with a Sabre when the Bass GODS smile upon me and the GAS FUNDS runneth over

1. It stood in the actual shadows of Motown
2. Big Sweetness fan. One of the best who ever played the game. I used to work next door to his resturant in Chicago. Nice guy. Nice Rolls Royce too!
3. I'm next to MrPackerGuy somehow. Pretty good for a Sabrenoob.

It's soooo eeeasy (for me) to see that the early Sabre was the precursor to the G&L L-2000 bass, still made in the same factory on Fender Ave in Fullerton CA.

OK- I found the original color of this Sabre was Black. I think this also explains why the grain on this pops, there are still traces of paint in the crannies.

I wouldn't see why not. They look identical to me.
