Musicman Sabre Club

How's everyone still liking their reissue classic Sabres?

I tightened the truss rod on mine to bring it back to factory spec relief and found that I actually had a good bit of room to lower the saddles before I would get buzzes. The fret work on this one is boutique quality.

No surprise for that...music man have always been high quality...I had, all along the years, up to 10 music man basses (sterling, bongo, stingray, sabre) and I found always a superb quality. These are basses easy to play and also very easy to sell if you need it...

Yeah, I think this is probably my 10th MM (bunch of stingrays, a couple Sterlings in 4 and 5 string configurations). They've all had pretty good fretwork, but I'd usually get buzz on the low E in the first couple positions if I dropped the action below 3/32" at the 12th fret. This one handles 5/64" no problem. The lowest action I was ever able to get was on a US lakland 4-94 at 2/32". That thing was unbelievable... I don't even have my strat set up that low.
