This is a quote from the auction:

As you can see in the pictures someone has cut pieces from the headstock and body of the bass, This does not effect the playability only the looks

Awww, c'mon. Whoever did it spent their own money on it. I try not to look at it like someone destroyed a piece of art, that they should feel responsible to maintain for everyone else's pleasure. More like someone "customized" their bass, because it was theirs. Everyone else can buy their own to do with what they choose.

Don't buy it. No big deal.

Ive never had a Ric, seen a Ric in person or anything. To be honest they aren't bad looking but I HATE the pickguards on them..*shutter*....I am mildly curious about them as I have heard they feel a lot like a guitar???

Anyway, if I was GASing and had the money and that wasnt a lefty, a beat to hell Ric like that is about the only way Id ever get a shot at one. Thats not saying I don't mind the damage its got...it looks like it was teased with a chainsaw IMO or dangled over a wood chipper a few times. Thats pretty sad what was done to it if you ask me. :( Looks more abuse than road use..unless it was dragged on the road or someone tried to hack a hole on the stage floor with it....
