My 1SPOT power supply...............

.............sucks eggs. Can only power up 2 pedals (I have 4 pedals)! At rehearsal last night, I couldn't get sound out of my pedals. Had 4 pedals daisy chained and got nothing. Got home and hooked up separate power supplies and all the pedals worked. I think what I may do is use 2 power supplies and and daisy chain only 2 pedals each.

My pedalboard is really tiny so I don't want to invest in a power brick as I'd have no place to secure it. Thoughts?

Which one 1Spot?

The basic wall wort is rated for 9V at 1700mA. That's actually quite a lot of juice and it should power several analog pedals.

Digital pedals tend to be more power hungry.

Confirm the voltage for each pedal is 9V. Confirm the polarity and connector for each pedal. The 1 Spot wall wort is center negative with a 2.1mm barrel. Add the current draw for each pedal. If the total current is less than 1700mA, something is wrong. Maybe your daisy chain is jacked. Maybe your 1Spot is jacked.

My 1 SPOT is 9 volts and will
deliver 1700 ma (milliamps).
This is printed on the power supply.

A pedal will require from approximately
200 ma to 300-500 ma for a non tube
pedal.
Pedals with tubes might require
400-600 or even 700 ma.

So, you can check either on the
pedal itself, or on the website to
see what the pedal draws.

Wall wart. Could be the daisy chain adapters or the wall wart is bad and not putting out enough juice. All the pedals are 9V. The pedals all powered up but they did not pass sound. When I got home, I tried the 1SPOT on a single pedal and it worked fine. I'm fine using separate wall warts (which I have) if I have to. Was just trying to keep everything neat and compact.

1) Have you tried each of the pigtails individually?
2) After you had one running have tried adding another and if so how many will it run?

@Wasnex had all the right info and other than some of your pedals possibly needing "center positive" power, or drawing too much total current, the only thing I can think of is a defective wall wart or daisy chain.

I know you said you have a small pedalboard with no room for an isolated power supply so perhaps you need to invest in better pedalboard. CIOKS makes mounting brackets for their integrated power supplies to mount them under Pedaltrain boards. No drilling.

My CIOKS SOL offers separate lines for each pedal with either "center negative" or "center positive" power. Also included are 2 daisy chains (a 2 pigtail and a 3 pigtail) so you can run some of the pedals that are able to share power with other pedals.
I'm currently running 8 pedals in my CIOKS SOL. The CIOKS DC7 will power up to 10 pedals

This sounds like something is malfunctioning with the supply or the daisy chain. What is the mA draw of each pedal? Even if they were 500 mA each you should be able to get 3 to work at once. If you don't have any power hungry boxes, you should be fine. Obviously you aren't. Hoping we can help you get this sorted.

Sounds like the daisy chain.
Try each terminal til you find it. Could also be a break way up at the head of the chain.

Slightly bigger board (even a nylon kitchen chopping board with some feet works..) with a more statically mounted PSU. Anything like the OneSpot with thin wires that you setup and wrap away each time you set up at a venue will eventually (and sometimes quickly) fail - even though they are jolly convenient and relatively cheap.

Get something small like the mxr mini iso brick and mount it under the board. I've never mounted a power supply on top of the board. 1.06"x3.6"x1.5". Surely you can find space for that.

Agree with this. I've used my 1 Spot to power a variety of small board configurations for years with no problems, so you definitely have a fault somewhere or the power draw is too high.

In the end, you will invest in a quality power brick.
You can do it now, or you can try different possibilities until you cave in.

Agree, there must be something wrong with your OneSpot... mine runs a Mesa Subway DI+, a PolyTune3, and a couple more MXR pedals. No idea how to troubleshoot one of these... I'm imagining it's like a string of Christmas lights. Which can also suck eggs, come to think of it...

Want me to bring mine over? FWIW, the B Factory has a really heavy draw...if underpowered, it lights-up but doesn't pass signal. As already suggested, I would just add each pedal one-by-one (...powered by the spider, of course) until the culprit rears its ugly head.

You didn't mention which 4 pedals you're using. Any power hungry digital pedal in there (like HX Stomp)?
That would drain most of the power from your 1Spot, plus, it's never a good idea to daisy chain digital pedals.
If they're simple analog pedals, my first bet would be that your daisy chain cable is broken/faulty.

I never used mine for anything but a Tuner and some kind of multi effect pedal. I have had one for at least fifteen years. I bought a back up when i was gigging but may never use it. Theyre great!

Others are better equipped to diagnose and have already chimed in, so I'm just popping in with a possible solution if you decide to ditch the daisy chain without going full brick.

I used a 1spot daisy chain at home for years and never had the issue you described, but that setup generated too much extraneous noise for recording or performing. I considered a brick but they seemed expensive and always one output short.

I don't remember how I stumbled upon it, but the Outlaw Effects Iron Horse Power Supply + Tuner took care of both problems without breaking the bank. Unless you have highly specific needs in a tuner, it would free up an output and eliminate extraneous noise.

In a bit over two years, the only trouble I ever had with it ended up being 100% operator error I must have switched things around in a hurry and tried to run my Night Owl Edison EF86 tube preamp off one of the 100mA outputs, and that pedal needs at least 250. As soon as I switched to 500mA, I was back in business

Not trying to spend that kind of money. It's a tiny pedalboard with 3 pedals. I'm totally fine using separate wall warts. The MXR has a battery in it so need to use a wall wart for that one. Disregard the unplugged input on the MXR in the pic. Everything was properly plugged in.
