My 1SPOT power supply...............

Back when I was running a One Spot, the extension cable was supposed to come with the end caps on the plugs, or so I thought. Anyway I emailed Truetone about it and even offered to buy a handful if they would sell them to me. Nothing doing, they wouldn't take my money, instead they shipped me a handful of those caps for free! 😁

Well, that's cool! So I used one and lost / tossed the balance...typical.

My 1 SPOT is 9 volts and will
deliver 1700 ma (milliamps).
This is printed on the power supply.

A pedal will require from approximately
200 ma to 300-500 ma for a non tube
pedal.
Pedals with tubes might require
400-600 or even 700 ma.

So, you can check either on the
pedal itself, or on the website to
see what the pedal draws.
Do you mean 20ma instead of 200? Several pedals on my board use 20mA or less and I'm pretty sure they're all under 200. My MasterEffects Super 800 Plus preamp/DI is the only thing that might draw more than 100mA.

Empress tremolo 30ma
Belle Epoch Deluxe 200ma
boonar Dawner Prince 200ma
Broughton Azure Drive 4ma
Tech 21 RotoChoir 100ma

The Empress Bass Para EQ requires
at least 300 ma. I have it, and it's an
excellent bass eq pedal.

Your high ma examples are all digital (and one hybrid - roto choir) pedals. Saying that a pedal will require 200 ma minimum is wrong, unless you specify that it's digital. My board for example consists of 10 analog pedals (most drawing current under 20 ma) and one digital pedal that draws 300 ma. Analog pedals don't need that much current.

Empress bass para eq pedal is all analog, and draws a minimum of 300 ma.

My point was about you generalizing that a "pedal will need 200 to 500 ma for a non-tube pedal" (that's me quoting you).
I never mentioned Empress Para EQ nor did you (in that statement). So that was simply factually wrong, even backed by your own examples of analog pedal current draw ratings. Maybe it's the language barrier. I just wanted to confirm to the other user, that yes, a pedal will often require less than 20 ma, especially when we talk about analog fuzz, drive, modulation, filters etc. Don't frankly care for agitated childish snarky remarks, but suit yourself.

I wasn't being "snarky". I get tired of being picked apart on this bass site.
Especially since it has nothing to do
with the OP's initial post, which was
dubious too.
I work as an electrical engineer at a
national laboratory, and I know what
a damn milliamp is.
I also don't give a damn whether or
not you care about remarks, or
anything.

IME, most analog pedals draw less than 100mA and many less than 50mA.

Lets think about it for a minute and it will be obvious…

Any common opamp used in a pedal will draw about 5 mA (or less) per section and 100 mA would be 20 opamp sections or 10 dual opamp ICs.

200mA would be 20 dual opamp ICs which is uncommon.

Also, I have seen pedals labeled for current draw values WAY higher than they measure (possibly because the builder just slapped a number that sounded good into the back of the pedal).

Thank-you Mr. Agedhorse for bringing
clarity to the post , as usual. Apologies to Mr. mouthmw. Yes, there's no need to get snarky, either way. The OP's issue turned out to be a grounded branch of his adapter, and not one of current draw. I pulled some, what I thought were safe, approximate current numbers off the top of my head and my samples turned out to skew my power hungry pedals.
I'm glad to hear that the OP found a good solution. 1 SPOT adapters are what they are.
 
Just wanted to clarify that the 1 SPOT in itself is fine. The daisy chain adapter was the issue (1 of the legs touching the frame of a pedal causing an interruption). I ended up buying another solution that works well. The 1SPOT and daisy chain will be a backup. And to echo @agedhorse, 'most' pedals do not need more than 300mA, if that. Maybe a high end specialty pedal with a lot of bells and whistles but I don't know. I'm a novice just starting out with pedals, in my old age (66).

Lastly, I ask that everyone please be civil when interacting with each other. We are all bass brothers of all ages and have different experiences in life and bassdom!! Nothing is absolute. @agedhorse comes with a lot of knowledge and wisdom when it comes to the tools that we use to play our music. If you are unsure about something, just ask him.
