My active preamp isn’t working....

so i bought this bass cort c5 plus and when i first used it i used it on a tiny 10w guitar amp ... i played it on active for like 2 minutes and it stopped working... the passive works fine but the active doesn’t work.... can it be the fault of the amp or is there something wrong with my bass??.... please help me...

Hey there, welcome to Talkbass!

If you're playing an active bass, you should be aware that the preamp generally runs on a 9-volt battery. If your bass doesn't seem to be working in active mode, it's the first thing you should check. Generally, there will be a small battery door that you can locate on the back of the bass; it may be a plastic hatch that you can open or it may require you to remove a cover with a screwdriver.

Try replacing the battery with a fresh one and let us know if it solves your problem! In order to get the most life out of your battery, make sure that you unplug the bass when you're not using it (as leaving the guitar cable plugged in will drain the battery even if the amp is off).

I bought it online and they said they’ll fix it or replace it but i cut the battery connector’s cover(small black cover) to check if there was any wire that was not connected to the battery connector... so I don’t think that it will be replaced but they assured me that they will repair it and send it back... is there a way i can change that battery cover lol.. i wanna get a new one if possible but if they fix this that would be okay for me... i just want my bass working
