MY BEAT BUDDY IS HERE!

I sent this issue to Dave Koltai at Pigtronix and he's looking into it. We plan to do some cross promotion, so I'm sure they'll make sure the BB and Infinity play perfectly together.

The THRU will just pass along the signals received by the BB IN. According to my programmers, merging the commands would cause a big mess and probably break everything.

Using series loops on the infinity, verse chorus style, could that info be communicated?
Verse/chorus switching coordinated between buddy and infinity?

Yes, this. SO MUCH THIS.

That's sweet---I'm glad there's that kind of synergy going on! I have another suggestion for Pigtronix on this front. In addition to what @jjclr said above, it would be awesome if they added the capability for MIDI CC codes to change the time signature, so that I could use an external MIDI controller to change the time signature to match the Beat Buddy for non-4/4 stuff, rather than requiring that I connect the Pigtronix to a computer to do this.

Based on my limited knowledge, this is not surprising. Thanks for looking into it though!

I don't have an infinity, but the coming beatbuddy is making me consider it (no tracking # yet).
From what i understand, you can arm the infinity's loops..
So arm the chorus loop near the start of the last of themeasures, and when you make the beatbuddy change parts, it can send a start signal?
Does the same trigger start the infinity as well as start another loop while engaged/playing?

The Beat Buddy/Infinity interaction is perfect for certain things and a little wonky on others. I think reading the last few pages of this thread and the corresponding post on the Beat Buddy forums that David linked to in this thread would be a good idea. The best news is it sounds like BB and Pigtronix have a relationship and we might see whatever wonkiness resolved.

I don't have time to post in more detail but if you read all of that and have further questions I'm happy to answer them here or by PM.

No Tracking #.
No notice in the mail (usually get a card saying "Unable to Deliver blah blah blah, come pick up your parcel").
Email day before from post office saying I had a package, couldn't go, had rehearsal.
Get another email today, I visit the post office (Why not the one close to me? Why does it have to be the central one, the furthest away?)
Well... whinging aside...

I can finally join this thread properly now.

The box said "Handle With Care", probably because there was no padding to prevent the boxes within the box from rattling around.
The Beat Buddy's box has cushiony foam, but the footswitch does not (doesn't really need it).

Fired it up and "Blues 1" loaded immediately without beckoning a patch – perfect for me 'cause I love blues.
I barely brushed the extra footswitch and the headphones hanging off my bass' endpin rang with a crash crash cymbal – better turn that down! Lotsa hiss as I put the headphones on... barely budged the ext footswitch and again *crash* ... is this thing oversensitive? I hope it settles down. Haven't even hit the main switch yet (I'm typing this as I'm doing it)... okay, picking up the bass...

... and with the vol @ 50% hit the main switch – I've got plenty db in the cans, no hiss, and damn, this thing sounds better than any TR-808 or similar Roland/Boss product my friends have ... subjected me to. Better than my friend's e-drum kit (Roland again, though he did have the Yammies before that) – albeit his kits are ancient by electronic kit standards.

Did the "hold down for a fill" thing, a single tap and some cymbal crashes on the ext switch before shutting it down.

Wife's footsteps approaching – better go make dinner!

That's weird as mine came with some padding inside the box.

I think maybe he means the two boxes (BB & footswitch) were rattling around in the bigger box? But yeah, they were packed very tightly in their individual boxes.

Yeah, you can see in my second photo that there's extra space within the shipping box next to the individual product-marketing boxes of the BB and footswitch (and the MIDI cable) and nothing to fill that space such as bubble pack or foam packing peanuts. The shipping box was deeper/taller than the height of the BB box itself, but my shipping box was going cross town, not across the world so no real worries and yes, packed tightly in their individual boxes. It was an observation I made, not a complaint.

Adamixoye, is there any M5 to BB MIDI interactions I should be aware of? (Maybe synced tremolo or delay repeats)
Obviously I know NOTHING about MIDI. Maybe I'll plug them together this weekend. Been busy, haven't had a chance to play with the BB since my first two-minute assessment in the previous post.

I haven't tried this specifically, but it should work---go Beat Buddy --> BB MIDI Cable OUT --> regular MIDI cable --> M5 MIDI IN and the M5 should automatically accept the Beat Buddy's current tempo in place of tap tempo. Go into the main M5 menu just to check the settings for tempo. I don't remember what mine is set on. You can also set the MIDI channel in the M5 menu, but for tempo, that's irrelevant---tempo is set irrespective of channel.

I've done this with my Eventide pedals but did not have the M5 chained up at the time; I can't think of a reason that it wouldn't work, though. (I've done similar things chaining my M5 to Eventide without the Beat Buddy.)

I was on it over the weekend. I'm assuming it's just a website issue, not anything more nefarious...give it a few hours...
