Hopefully it needs no work. It sounded fine when I played it. The bass was fine as is. This bass is being sold so cheap, I am pretty sure my wife will cool when she sees what it costs new. I hope I have many more years, but when I go, my wife and kids should be able to double their money on it, but I really want one of daughters to learn the bass. Both are fine young band members on alto sax and clarinet.

...and I thought that my instructor from my teenage years got the pawn-deal of the century when he snagged a fret-less Warwick Thumb 4-string back in the late 80's (and it had a crack in the head-stock!).

oh..just half curious about the the TNT amp in the back ground...nice bass but the amp caught my eye

The pawn shops in your area are outstanding!
Might not be the pawn shops.
Might be the dearth of bass players of high end instruments that regularly make bad financial decisions.
What kind of pawn shop is that? My pawn shops only sell trinkets and damaged furniture
The guy who pawned it, bought for $700. He did not want it as much as his 1976 Precision.
The guys at the store said they have a hard time moving fretless and five string basses. They also saw that people were asking a lot for Pedullas on eBay, but they weren't getting it. Given those facts letting me buy for $1k is a decent return on a $700 loan.
