If anyone is curious, I canceled my layaway on that MIM Jazz and put it on the Pedulla.
Last week, I was at the local pawnshop, and I overheard a guy say he was redeeming his vintage P-bass, but would not get his Fretless Pedulla. I said I was interested, but it was near closing and did not stick around. Today, I was there, and a clerk brought out a very nice Pentabuzz. I said I would be interested for a good price. The said I could lay it away for $995 plus tax. I said yes. I probably won't get this out until the fall, maybe even Christmas, but it will be worth the wait. I checked on Bass Central, and this bass is $3,999 new. This will take up all of my GAS for the rest of the year, but I don't mind. This is a Brad level deal!![]()

I've learned to never say never, so I am with you!I am no longer browsing in that store as of today, if I do, I may be posting about a Fodera Monarch I found for $2K!![]()
Aaaaaaaagh! That's an amazing deal. That also looks like a 19mm spaced Pentabuzz no? Either way it is a steal but if it is 19mm that would REALLY have me extra excited.
Either way, congrats Doc. That is a one nice stroke of luck from the bass universe. And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!
Rock on.
Your daughters have great taste in instruments like their dad!Hopefully it needs no work. It sounded fine when I played it. The was fine as is. This bass is being sold so cheap, I am pretty sure my wife will cool when she sees what it costs new. I hope I have many more years, but when I go, my wife and kids should be able to double their money on it, but I really want one of daughters to learn the bass. Both are fine young band members on alto sax and clarinet.
"GAS IS INFINITE!"I don't believe you, but I was wrong once before.![]()
What else do they have down there right now? I know I'm not too far from you and would love to check them out.
Thanks Roger, and it is definitely 19mm at the bridge.
Doug Johns is so good! One of my bass heroes for sure!
Nice snag Doctor!!![]()
What about the Ric?
It's your time Dr. Cheese!Hey it is unbelievable, but forty plus years of hanging out looking for deals has really paid off big this time!
