awsome find!! Congrats!!! Very nice Bass!!Last week, I was at the local pawnshop, and I overheard a guy say he was redeeming his vintage P-bass, but would not get his Fretless Pedulla. I said I was interested, but it was near closing and did not stick around. Today, I was there, and a clerk brought out a very nice Pentabuzz. I said I would be interested for a good price. The said I could lay it away for $995 plus tax. I said yes. I probably won't get this out until the fall, maybe even Christmas, but it will be worth the wait. I checked on Bass Central, and this bass is $3,999 new. This will take up all of my GAS for the rest of the year, but I don't mind. This is a Brad level deal!

Don't forget to cross the Mississippi River, and check out SW Illinois. The Eastside is where I have found most of my deals over the last ten years.

Man, over here you'd be lucky to find a beat up old Squier Affinity in a pawn shop. Could be a good thing too though, when you think about it, general economics wise.

I know exactly what you mean! While I pay off this Pedulla, I won't go checking out near gear because I need to finish this first.
Yeah I've been looking at them too, I think I'm going to get a Longhorn first though, cheap, cool looking and sound great.
There's an 8 string 70's Ibanez at a local pawnshop. They were asking $1700 for several months at which point I offered to put the word out about it. The said they wouldn't ship so I didn't push it.
They dropped the price to $999 now. It's funny, the people managing the store don't seem to be too bright, which is not how things used to be. I've bought a lot of gear from them but recently they went butthead on me...
They had an Ampeg mini amp/cab setup since last November in great shape. $299. Wouldn't budge on the price so I passed. Normally they'd deal. Months go by and the price is supposed to automatically reduce. They also have a 30% off on all amps deal. So I went back to buy it when the price had dropped the second time and they refused to honor their sale. One salesman not even involved made a snide comment about my ability to buy a $130 amp.
So it was on.
This is part of a big chain. I called corporate in Texas and left a message. The regional manager returned my call and he wasn't happy about what they did. He said he'd take care of it and I got a call back shortly thereafter, apologizing for their behavior and said the amp was mine if I wanted it... for 30% off of $191, the current reduced price.
It was fun going back and getting that little rig (100 amp/ vertical 210) for $130. And the looks on the faces of the jackholes who gave me crap was a nice touch too.
This was way out of the norm in my dealings with pawnshops. I normally get along great with them but when I explained a situaton as plain as this one was in the store and three people ask me what the problem was... Either they're playing dumb or they actually were. Now I'm guessing they just feel dumb. Good times.
