Speaking of that. I did all the required cable work and have my board up and running again, took it to rehearsal and was pleasantly surprised!
Running the signal chain of Doom2 + PX-101 + Mini Chorus yields a fat synth that is super touch sensitive. I set the output so high it engages the comp more or less immediately, so I can use dynamics to direct the filter sweep without bouncing around volume wise.
In the nether regions of the board, there still is a Fuzzrocious BDPG and an Xotic BB Bass Preamp, as well as the C4 Synth, which I did not take off yet to do some more A/B comparison before waving it good bye.

No, but I’ve been considering the Harmonious Monk for a while. I’d have to kick something else off the board, though, and there’s nothing I’m sick of yet. My reverb (Echo Fix spring tank) and delay (new Boss DM-101) are large pedals, but they’re non-negotiable.

one of the most important contextual facts might be that I'm the only person within a larger diameter that is willing, able and (somewhat weirdly) equipped to play bass in a reggae band.
I can get away with some things. Sometimes I can see it in their faces. Like a mild toothache. But they hold their silence.

I was doing some light cleaning this morning, when I found a bag underneath a cupboard. I pulled it out, wondered at the weight and opened it.
I found, as you can see, a Vong Filterung, a Flamma Looper, a Mastotron, a HPF and a LPF.
Upon seeing them, I totally knew that I own these, but before vacuuming underneath that cupboard, they were completely gone from my mind.
How concerning is this?

I was wondering what had become of the Vong (I recall when you first came across it). Happy resolution to that little mystery!
Correct me if I'm wrong. Tube Screamers seem to be a topic all by themselves, but here is what I gathered so far:
The Mini is mostly identical to the TS808 reissue, but it comes with true bypass switching and seems to have less output on the level knob.
The clipping stage of the pedal is two silicone diodes, and there is a hpf working at 720 Hz and a variable low pass that is controlled by the overdrive knob, with the lowest possible frequency at 5600Hz. I did not understand how the clipped signal is mixed with, my guess is, a buffered clean signal in some way, because there is stuff happening below 720Hz. The pedal passes signal with the Overdrive knob all the way CCW, so there is more happening than just the gain being pushed.

I definitely experimented with a reissue TS-808 for a good while. It was my beloved guitar overdrive pedal (I was a big Hendrix and SRV disciple during my guitar playing days), so I wanted to see how it handled the bass. Honestly, I was left disappointed. Tried with both a flats-strung P and a rounds-strung 4003, it didn't work well. Rolled off too much low end (obviously), but it also attenuated high-end frequencies in a way that made it hard to poke through even in a reasonably sparse mix. I think you typically like a warmer gain/grit than I do, but that pedal just felt like it needed a bit more emphasis up there.
The only one that did it for me was the MXR Zakk Wylde OD (despite my better judgment; not remotely into ZW or his music), which still rolled off too many lows, but had the cut and clang I wanted. Now that ZW lives in on my Farewell to Cleans pedal

Singular Audio Tubedrve in bound I'll report back once I spend some time with it.
I must admit that after the first session of playing the TS, I quite liked it. The low cut did not feel that drastic and I really liked the texture of the drive as long as you did not overdo it. I tried it again today, playing in a mix. It was also quite good, but after a couple of minutes playing it, I wanted to start comparing it, and switched it off. The low end suddenly gained an amount of authority, I was speechless. When you let your ear get used to the sound playing through the TS, you kinda accept it, but when it comes back, you really know what you're missing out on. I kicked in the BB Bass Preamp to compare and that one has a bit of a bass boost going, so the low end rumble became even more massive. I liked that, and I liked how the BB treats the highs, more crisp sounding, but I liked the structure and response of the TS more. I think I should investigate a TS made for bass. Blumes, mayhaps.
Not a dirt pedal, but does anyone here have experience with the Dunlop Bass Wah Mini?
How does the bypass sound? The Thomann website says it's hardwire true bypass, but the Dunlop website says it's buffered ...

With an automatic bypass like that (no switch) it is almost certainly a buffered bypass.
