My DP Pushic Custom fiasco........

Well, the way I see it, Dave's idea of perfect must be different than the ideas of several buyer's definition of perfect. I feel bad for some of these people who have put down their hard-earned cash for a bass, and gotten something that was barely playable. And had to send it back and still not get it fixed right.

Perfect or not, it should still be playable. At any price.

Sounds great actually, I have Bart 9J's in it, producing the vintagey J type tone I was looking for. That, at least, I cannot complain about. Also has a series/parallel and a phase switch.

Is there any local repair shops that can address the problems you're having with the bass? I read your post about Pushic's refusal to do any further work on it, hopefully you have a good repair shop close by that can put it into shape for you.

We had a guy in my area many years ago who could repair just about anything. I remember looking at some of the "major surgery" repairs he did; you wouldn't even know it had been repaired unless you looked very hard at it.

Not having ever even seen a DP bass, I must say I'm sure they are fine basses, for sure. That said, anyone who hangs out here and buys one deserves what he gets, fine bass or not. Amen.
Once again, allow me to say that I ordered my DP before I discovered TB. If I had seen his reviews here before ordering, I wouldn't have taken the chance.

Excellent idea, I will consider it. Thanks

the issue is should you have to pay a local cat to repair a brand new bass ?

He obvioulsy should not, but he should not have had to deal with all of the issues surrounding the bass at all. If we wants it to have the playability that it should have then he will probably have to put more money into it, considering DP will not work on it, and may not be able to get it right.

I guess the only thing I can say is:

"Please let us know how satisfied you are with your DP when you recieve it"

I had one, I did a great design tonally and functional, but the build quality ruined all of that...

Even the electronics werent properly wired, I.. MYSELF, had to solder it all over again.

I have pictures of mine, design, flaws, corrections, everything. However, No one will hear or understand what they do not want to.
And that was my mistake when I ordered One, It might be yours too Lamborgini....

I still want a custom made, but have yet to find a GOOD luthier that would make my project for about $2000, it crawls up to $4000

Look for the ones that advertise "We specialize in repairing Dave Pushic customs!"

I noticed there's a Pushic bass up for sale on Ebay. Last time I checked, it was up to $800.

That one looks very familiar...I think it belongs/belonged to a TBer.
