My drummer's a dead man.

So she's 18. She's legal. Why feel creepy? That just means she hasn't had as long to go crazy.

that's VERY untrue. The most clinically insane women I've ever dated (okay, the only ones) were all eighteen, and they're QUITE insane.

to be serious though, was the bottle of water open? did it break? and importantly, did it damage your bass/did he intend to damage your bass?
if no to the last two questions, I'd just let it go, if yes however, I'd probably put some cooking oil on his drumsticks at a gig - or something else embarassing.

nah no damage to the bass and no real plans for revenge. otherwise I would have put the headstock through his kick drum.

at band practice yesterday my drummer found out the chick he's been talking to was only 18 (he's 26) so he feels a little creepy.

Well he got a text saying something along the lines of "I'm just a baby so I'm a little nervous about going any further with you."

I told him to reply "I have plenty of candy no worries."

He then threw his water bottle at me (usaually happens at least once a practice) and hit my bass... My Traben to be specific... My first instinct was to throw my crate at him but I stopped... Time for revenge. any suggestions?
i'd say you should count yourself lucky he didn't have something heavier to throw....do you really want to escalate a comment that you probably didn't need to say any further....i dated girls of that age when i was older than 26,and most of the time things didn't end up any worse than they did with older girls i dated ....18 year old girls are probably serving in iraq, and to suggest that an 18 year old girl is incapable of making her own decisions on who they will date is a tad silly.....

The drummer doesn't care it's the girl that's nervous about it.

You yourself just said you deserved what happened. If don't want things to hit your bass, then learn to keep quiet, even if it is a good joke.

pfft no. I don't care if they throw stuff at me. Just not my bass. I can't afford to replace it if something happens.

Honestly would you be pissed (and i wasn't mad because there was nothing wrong with my bass afterward) if you were teasing a bandmate and he decided to break your instrument?

get some thicker skin dude, you seem pretty upset for a casual joke between guys
