I have a few customers who do it. TOTAL length is about 40-41" I will need to measure one on Monday but it should be about 40"... Most bass strings are 48" for the full winding.

You must have a 3+3 3+4 headstock where the tuning post is very close to the nut.

Most peoples instruments the strings are too short.

Threading the guitar string through the extra bass string ball end is a great idea...I'll have to try that. Thanks for providing your string experiment results.

I just ordered, and received, a couple of sets of strings from BSO. First time, and it was totally uneventful. I ordered, the strings came. No hay problemo. Packaging was also good, IMO.

I didn't point out that I was a TB'er - is there a special discount? If so, I'll get it next time.

Each site is independent of one another. So you need to create an account on each site. VIP status is available on all sites.

If you want to combine orders no problem. Just put in the comments section you are placing multiple orders and we will combine them and refund any extra shipping charges.

Well, call me a BSO convert. I ordered 2 sets of strings and a cable Sunday night hoping they'd arrive before my Friday gig, and even emailed asking if rush shipping was available. Lo and behold, they were in the mailbox yesterday, and Jason had emailed apologizing for being out of the office when I contacted them. No apology necessary - I've find my new source for strings!

Got my order from Jason. Had a set of XL Nickels on my 5 string Cirrus. Loved for of them but the b-string wasn't right. Jason fixed me right up with a .125 instead of the .130 that was in the set. Also got some rubber Wedgie picks and a Levi's strap. Great stuff and made it here in no time. Definitely my goto place for strings and anything else they carry.

Yep. My experience as well.

When I first started seeing posts about BSO I was like - "Yeah, what ever."

Then I had to ask a question about strings:

I wanted to know what stainless steel round wound strings would fit my 32 inch string-through-body with a compact 2x2 headstock. And they have to have gold silks at the head.

?

I couldn't believe it when they got back to me that same day.

This is where I buy my strings as well. Last order was two sets of D'Addario Pro Steels (5str) They were recommended to me by Rodney Skeet Curtis. He is the current bass player for Maceo Parker.
