My Krappy Bass custom build

So, are there essentially two approaches to EUB? Those that are true electric bass fiddles (longer scale, arched fingerboard & bridge) ...
and those that are essentially bass guitars turned sideways?

So as not to bring upon me the wrath of the true double-bassists, I've sorta begun referring to the Twig as a UBG, or upright bass guitar. I've played an old Ampeg and a nice Yamaha, and indeed they have longer scale length, a bit wider spacing at the bridge, and the all-important radius. They also cost more than my car.

But given that, there's a lot of fun that can be had with an UBG.

pull the trigger BEFORE you leave.... your rod might be done or close to it, by the time you get back from vacation !

Hey, note the small & compact size of my fretless 2; you couldn't really tell from the earlier pic of just the bass itself. But it is 34" scale, w/ two-full-octave neck : big and meaty sound, too
