As some of you may know, I've been going through basses like toothpicks lately trying to find "the" one for me. I've been through a Warwick corvette 5, Roscoe SKB3006, MTD 535, Skjold Custom 5, and an Fbass BN5. When I saw this MTD, I knew I had to have it. It is super light and well balanced, and the 6 string neck feels more playable than even my old Roscoe! For now, my journey has come to an end. I have a very good feeling this bass will be with me for a very long time...

Enjoy the pics!

Congrats Tony!

I know you've been looking hard, and for those who don't know, I just bought Tony's F Bass BN5 (and it sounds like my money contributed largely to the purchase of your MTD). It looks fantastic, and I hope it brings you much joy!

Haha, yup! Thanks to your timely purchase I was able to secure this MTD! Thanks again!

Congrats on finding something you like after a long (and it seems, expensive) search! One question though...besides having one more string, what was so different about the 535 from the 635?

The 535 I owned was #161, had a wenge neck and finger board, myrtle burl top and tulipwood body. It sounded very harsh and brittle sounding, I think due to the wenge/wenge combo. This 635-24 has a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, which tames the tone quite a bit compared to the 535 I had.

Finally!!! ;)

Just kidding, I'm glad that you found the one that will work for you. Sometimes it becomes a hassle getting to this point but you got here. Now if I only had the extra scratch to take that pesky Skjold off your hands...

Enjoy!

Thanks! I am very open to making a good deal with another TB'er for the Skjold if they want it! Just pm me!
