I feel like huckelberry finn. Thanks guys, you say such nice things.
I am just cutting back, but I realize I gotta cut back bigtime. When I have 20 posts running here, and 20 email responses - I get lost. So after this thread I'm gonna lay real low.
A few words about the original topic... the tape I think was the camel that broke my straw back. The friends and seeming lack of excitement these days got me, but more that that, the thing that's been killing me - and that i've been in total denial about - is that I don't create anymore. I have a Korg D16 studio sitting right in front of me for 2 f...ing years now and I still don't know how to use it. Years ago I had a tascam 4 track piece of crap and recorded tons and tons of songs. I haven't recorded anything worthwhile in years and my songwriting has gone down to just about zilch. The past 20 nerve songs were written by Randy Nerve - and he's written at least 50 to come up with the 20 we're using. I've written about 5, and I don't think we're using any of them.
Past 2 days I've checked my mail quickly in the morning, and quickly after my afternoon nap (quickly yesterday after my nap was about an hour and a half

). Interesting feeling doing things around here and saying to myself that the computer is off limits. Can't explain it, but I get a sense this is going to be very good. Feels alomost immediately liberating. I cleaned a little and watched porn last night, BUT IT'S A START!!!! I need to make this simply something I don't do anymore, expecially in the evenings. I'm confident the songs will start flowing again.
It really is hard to not do this stuff....
And we just got a great mention in the new bass magazine too. There's gonna be so many newbies.
Thanks again for all the nice words.
