Actually, I was a ways off. It's more like 16.5-17mm. I'm still more comfortable with a full 19mm, but for an ERB I could live with a smaller spacing like this.

Concerning this bass, I bought on the German e-bay site (I live in Belgium-Europe so...) ...

You can find the same/similar bass on ebay with a firm called HK-vertrieb in Germany. There is a link somewhere in this thread to these basses, which they make in 4 to 8 strings, fretted and fretless!
I guess it is the same bass that you guys have bought or are looking to buy in Taiwan, except for the inlays. I looks stellar, my wife told me, but I still have to get my hands on it. I want to get home from work so bad today ;-)
The service has been great with these guys at Weller... Reply's a few hours after the mail is sent, they have a not good - money back guarantee, which seems to apply. All in all, a very good service for an ebay store.

Well, I took her for a test drive when I came home... and she plays wonderfull... Had to adjust the string height, but the intonation was set up well by the seller.
All in all, I am very happy with it, she sounds like a high class bass, without the price tag! The only minor flaw is a small misdrilled hole for one of the tuners... But to me, that doesn't matter... She sounds really great, with great sustain!

looks like this was not a good idea. i paid for the thing august 21, got an email the 29th stating "your item has shipped". i sent a request asking for a tracking number. just got a reply today: "we will let you know when we ship"...it's sept 6th now.

I cannot vouch for the Taiwan guy, but the German guy (Heinrich Weller) is in my opinion an honest guy... although they get some complaints in the shipping time...

Not just about your soon to be cancelled dispute with PayPal but the fact that I have yet to get the "it's shipped" notice.
i think i have gotten too used to a fretless. the darn frets keep getting in the way i dunno, it's going to take awhile to even get used to frets again let alone play this giant neck. i just might have to shave them down, or something...
the inlay is flawless, much better then had been reported by others. no finish on the maple/walnut neck. a coat or two of something before winter is a must. need to adjust the action a bit.

You could have the frets removed and then coat the fretboard so that's always an option. Right now I'm testing the fretless waters and finding them a bit too deep as my intonation is wildly off.
