Updates:

Well, I've still got it and I still like it. Sounds great, and plays well. The look of the headstock has grown on me a little bit.

I don't think I'll be keeping it in the long run though. With my 6-string Stambaugh coming fairly soon (sometime next month I'm hoping), I don't forsee myself playing the 7 very much at all. Plus I've got plans for one more custom bass that I'll probably need to sell the 7 to finance...

Glad to see that someone else here will be getting one. Hopefully you'll be able to back me up on some points and help build a little reputation for these basses. Budget 6-strings are pretty rare (haven't tried the SX/Brice ones yet), and Galveston makes the only other cheap 7-strings I can think of (which I hear they aren't very good at all).

sorry to be off topic but when I order my stambaugh, Im thinking of ordering it with the high F since I already have a six string, and Im interested in the high f, but Im too scared to shell out that kind of money for a 7 and then find out Ill hate it. this way I can always change it back to beadgc if I wanted to.

Yeah, go for it. You might want to order the bass with a 'zero fret' as well, so it would be easy to change the tuning / string gauges without having to adjust the action and nut. And if you do a 6-string with a high F, get a detuner on the E string, so you can still go down to a low D. Mine will be tuned BEADGC, but I'll still have a detuner on the B-string to go down to low A :D

wow i must say i really wanna get one of those $500-$600 7-ers sounds really awsome nice groove bass i must say i'm blown away in everyway sure the cosmetics but hey $500 not bad i like the woods n all looks like a burl of maple maybe idk still anyone can sand it off n do some really nice upgrades some tung oil, nordstrand barolini/aguliar preamp replace the tunners w/ some ultralites n you got yourself a pretty amazing bass a 7-string neckthru at that, cant say it sounds amazing but i can say it sounds amazing for only being$500 so bucks lol great deal thanxz for the sound clip! very smooth and growly in a way love it!!!!

i'm glad someone else had to send payment to vietnam, i saw lokire shipped to taiwan, and i was about to get nervous. so yes i sent my money order to vietnam, still waiting on the bass.

i ended up using a card through paypal, but they have the option of shipping from both locations. of the few overseas purchases i have made, they stand out as easy to communicate with. they want your business. i got a confirmation email that mine had shipped (tues.), so it won be long now...:hyper:

Um, then how did he get that middle stripe?:)

He's actually buying instruments from the manufacturers of the brand names like Peavey and inlaying them. I bet, with a little research, you'll find a bass that looks exactly like it with a different name on it. A few months back, he was inlaying Peavey Grind NTB's and selling them. He's getting them before/or without the badging that would be applied.
