My new Geddy McKagan bass

or Duff Lee if you prefer;)

Geddy Lee neck
Hipshot tuners
Duff McKagan P(J) body, painted black, w/routed truss access
Dimarzio DP 126 pups
Babicz FCH bridge

Got the neck and the body some time ago, finally got around to putting it together. I recently built a Warmoth P with Dimarzio's and this has a similar sound, but the Maple neck makes it just a tad brighter (when just P pups are on)

since it has the black and maple thing going on, how about a flamed maple pickguard?

I hate the look of too many colors and patterns on a bass. The maple neck, with a colored body, and a tort or pearloid pickguard, and a chrome control cover etc...etc...etc.. really makes it look like a "parts bass". The cleaner you can make one look, the better

I like the black but I think my taste would have been to sand to a nice natural body, then see if it had a good grain. then clear coat it...that look would be killer in MY opinion...but it looks cool and what YOU like is what counts most.....
