My New to me OLP

I went the full route with my natural OLP - Duncan alnico pickup and onboard preamp. I'm really happy with the sound. Of course, it doesn't quite play like a real MM, but then again I paid less than $200 for the OLP and less than $200 for the upgraded electronics. Best SR knock-off ever, IMHO.

I just got mine today...There is not a scratch on it. I set the intonation, adjusted the truss rod, and cleaned her up...I like it!!!! I think it sounds great...and plays great. It has some hum when I turn the tone knob...I think some shielding may be in order...

All in all, I think it was a good deal for the $199 which included a new set of Hi-Beams thrown in...:hyper::bassist::D

Is there anything that I should look into doing? i.e. the jack feels kinda mushy, so that will probably get changed out...any other recommendations?

I have the same bass, and loved the way it felt and played, but agreed that the electronics weren't that great. I ended up replacing the pots. The difference was night and day. I went with a switch to go from series to parallel on the coils, a single volume to get rid of the annoying hum when they weren't set the same, and a new tone pot. Used 500k CTS pots, and a .1 MFD Cap. The tone knob works as I would expect one to now, and having the single volume is tons better. Just under 30 bucks in parts shipped, and about two hours work (made a few mistakes). Highly recommended.
